Texans have 6 division titles in previous 10-seasons -- Panthers have 3.

Texans have 7 winning records in last 10-seasons -- Panthers have 3.

Panthers have 7 losing records in last 10-seasons -- Texans have 3.

Texans made 6-playoff appearances in last 10-seasons -- Panthers with 4 including one where they fluked in with a losing record.

FYI.

Stop living in the past.  Those days are over.

You could make a pretty good case that a top five pick getting benched more than once qualifies as "underperforming".

you either commit to a rookie or you have him learn from the sideline behind a vet.  They wanted both IMO.

Rookie gonna take some lumps.  The bar isn’t to be the ROY or be benched.

Though it was reported he was benched twice, it was actually once.

He was pulled from their game against the Broncos due to a thumb injury suffered from contact to a helmet. He missed their next game against the lowly Jets with his thumb wrapped. You would want your rookie playing the Jets to build confidence if healthy. Fitz did not bail them out, and in fact threw a game sealing interception late in the endzone against Denver.

The other game he was pulled was the Raider game. This game was 16-13 game when he was pulled. There were other circumstances that figured into this situation. This is the only game Fitz "bailed" them out, and it was mostly luck.

A lot of people miss that Gailey called a different game for Fitz than he did Tua. Maybe Gailey didn't trust Tua. Who knows. But Gailey was fired for a reason.

It also didn't help with no offseason and Tua coming off of a major injury. I'm fine with keeping Tua and I'm fine with Watson. I don't want to give up everything for him though.

If we don't get Watson, I hope ya'll do.

What would be your max offer for Watson?

I found this on the Jets board. Outside of draft picks, the Jets don’t have a ton to offer player wise. Q would have to be part of their deal but that would leave the cupboard pretty bare.

Would you do Tua, 3 1st rounders and Wilkins?

Yes, there was so much to Tuas rookie season that many don't realize. Gailey was hired specifically for a Fitz offense. The weapons weren't good to start with either, but due to injury Tua only played 2 games with the starting weapons before injuries took all of them out and had Mack Hollins as his number 1 guy, yikes!

Personally, looking at Miami, I feel that pick 3 is worth (2) 1st as that is what it would take to move to 3 for a QB. If Miami trades pick 3, then I think they only include one more 1st. If they kept 3 and traded 18 instead, then I think they need to add that 3rd first rounder and a 2nd rounder.

If I was them, McCarron would actually be my 4th option.

1 = Watson after he changes his mind

2 = Start a QB received in a Watson trade

3 = Start a QB drafted with a pick acquired in Watson trade

If I traded Watson, received no QB back in the deal, and say I had pick 8 and wasn't sold on any QB left on the board, go to option 4

4 = Start McCarron in a tank season. Trade back from 8 to gain more draft assets to combine with assets in Watson trade. Tank out the season and have the top pick in 2022 to pick Rattler, Howell, or Shough instead of settling at 8 this year.

Their option right now is trade Watson (and then find a replacement in the Draft / through the trade), or call Watson's bluff and be forced to start McCarron.

    • I have more faith in XL improving than I do in Tmac being a true number 1 recuever
    • Round 1. TMac arguably the best WR in the draft Round 2. Scour ton mentioned as a possible 1st round edge.     Texas A&M did not use him the same way Purdue did. After the 2023 season he was listed as a first round grade. I believe had Texas A&M used him like they did at Purdue he never makes it out of round 1. Round 3 Princely Umanmielen, we'll go by Princely.  Another highly graded player we got in a lower round. As the video suggests, even if he plays only on passing down it's a positive. Give him a couple of years to develop a he could be a three down player.  Round 4a Etienne IMO a huge upgrade over Blackshear. I can see him in a similar role as CMC without the heavy workload. He can run in between the tackles and has some shifty moves. Give Canales some flexibility. A fellow huddler pointed out UGA running backs don't see the field if they cannot pick up the blitz. Really good pick. Round 4b Ransom a hard hitting safety that has played three different positions on defense. Great pick Round 5a Cam Jackson a massive NT in round 5. I believe a solid rotational pick in a lower round. We added a beast that could make offenses quiver when he's lined up with Brown. Great Value  Round 5b Evans This is another player that can block and has good hands. He also had better seasons before 2024. As a rookie he's probably leaps and bounds better than Ian Thomas. I think he gives us a three headed monster at TE.  Round 6 Horn Jr. Many believe he's just going to be a KR/PR player. I believe there are going to be packages for him to get on the field as a WR. His speed with TMac and Thielen in the slot could be special. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in training camp. I've watched some film and he is very explosive.  Overall I love our picks. I honestly believe all of them will contribute this season. I don't believe we reached on one player in this draft.  This weekend we get a small look at these rookies
