When has a blockbuster NFL trade worked out for the team who gives up everything?

Remind me of what the teams gave up for those players and the positive results for the teams that acquired them. Just curious

What did it get them? The Steelers and Seahawks didn't get a bump from those players and both  are in bad good shape going forward.

And those weren't close to blockbuster trades either.  We beat the Cardinals....lol

OP should be asking the reverse here.... how many blockbuster trades didnt work out for the team that traded for the player?

Since blockbuster trades arent very common in the NFL, i think its less than you can count on one hand. A quick google search brought me this, and there is only 3 NFL players on here....

didnt they get to the super bowl and come within one quarter of winning it? I believed Matt Ryan also won a MVP award thanks to Julio as well.

Oh and Julio jones owns a poo load of WR records as well..... Falcons came out alright in that deal consider over half the nfl cant hit on their 1st round picks.

GB trading for Favre worked out. The 49ers gave up their first three picks to move up to the Patriots pick and got Jerry Rice, kind of worked well. 

The trade packages that are being discussed now are exaggerated to the point that about the only comparison is the Herschel Walker trade.

Minkah Fitzpatrick has the most caused turnovers in the NFL over the last 2 seasons with the Steelers and was rated the second best safety in the league.... how did that not work out for the Steelers?

Adams set the record for the most sacks by a secondary player in a single season in nfl history and was the 5th best safety in the league.

Beating a team doesnt change the fact that the trades were good or not. I believe the Cardinals won a bc of Hopkins himself as well... Also, these players are still in the league.... you can't say that they are a failed trade. Hopkins is one of the best WRs in the game... hands down.

These ARE blockbuster trades bc they are trades for the best players at their position that cost a lot of capital for a team to get......

      I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....

      It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.

      That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
