He must really like Wofford College a lot!! I don't think any of their former alumni have come close to doing what Mr. Richardson has done, and continues to do, for that school.

He does love Wofford. He also loves having his name on things and this is probably his best shot at that.

I know he was pretty pissed about his "legacy" with the Panthers basically going away. And of course that statue that he "never wanted"

The guy has a lot of money to get rid of. He strikes me as the give most of it away rather than hand it down to his kids kind of guy. Of course, if he just left 10% of his estimated  $2 billion estate to his family, they'd have to somehow make it through life after splitting a measly $200 million.

It'll be tough, but they'll somehow pull through.

Based on passed actions, his kids probably don't like him.  Probably a big FU to them (and as stated, he likes his name on things and they are the only ones that would keep it up).  Of course the rich helping the rich is the way Jerry would want it.
