I get what you are saying but a major positive for him is his ability to run an offense and his uncanny ability at the line to process the defense and then go through his reads.

 

Now whether its because of the incredible talent I guess that remains to be seen but just saying he is throwing to his first read is lazy.  I mean its the one intangible that is shooting him up the board.  His ability to potentially come in right now and be an effective NFL starter is what is driving his value.

 

I think he can come in right now and be efficient and probably a slightly above average qb.  His floor is much higher than say Lance but his ceiling certainly has major restrictions.

Please name for me the college program that has consistently and reliably produced more quality NFL QB's than duds over the last 20 years.

Even the best college programs simply do not reliably produce good NFL qb's.  According to this list:

 only Oklahoma currently has more than 2 starting NFL QB's, and that list is Mayfield, Murray and Jalen Hurts. In terms of producing QB's that start in the NFL, that's the top of the list right now. Making the argument that some QB prospect should be discounted because the school he comes from doesn't have some outstanding track record of recent success at producing NFL QB talent is an inherently flawed one for this reason.

      Exactly, I mean it as no offense to his coaches, but they coach at Holy Cross and not a Power 5 school for a reason. Given his success at that level and his solid testing, I'm surprised he went undrafted, seems like the type that could excel once he gets NFL level coaching. One of higher expectations I've had for an UDFA in a long time.
