I guess it's a better nickname than "guy who's been overrated for years because of one big college highlight".

Not that Clowney isn't good, but he's never been as good as the hype that's surrounded him.

Let's not even talk about him being apparently one of the most fragile guys in the league. With his injury record I'm amazed we aren't signing him instead.

Hurst would be intriguing

I liked both of them, I was pissed when the panthers passed on Key in the 3rd. Lsu Brady will have inside infro.

Ito Smith was cut, speaking form a deep fantasy angle, he was someone who I always liked.

Fritts already signed too many players tho.

Hmmmmm

More proof that the hero worship of PFF grades is silly.

That being said, Hurst and Key have a lot more talent than the end-of-roster scrubs Carolina has signed over the last two weeks. Wouldn’t be mad about claiming either of them off of waivers.

Former Panther alert...

For some reason I was thinking he had already been signed somewhere.

This has to be a reason why the Raiders Defense has been so trash for years, they keep poaching from our bigger corners.

Worley, now this...? Draft your own average to below average 6’0 and up corners.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
