Panthers Free Agent Signings Thread

For those wanting Neal, he signed with the Cowgirls.  Besides, we really need to sign a DT to keep our options open during the draft and safety is merely on the wish list.  If no FA DT is signed, we will have to spend a day 2 or early day 3 selection on DT.

To be fair reddick is a good player. 12.5 sacks last year. Even if it was a one off season that’s a good contract for it.

Reddick had the best game for a defender last year. He 5 sacks and 3 FF against the giants.(plus Tack etc)

7.5 sacks and 2 FF for 15 games

OR

12.5 and 5 FF for 16 games

Seems teams knew about this and didnt want to pay for the giants game. Plus hes a 6'1 230 OLB, only Von Miller has been able to put up big number close to that size. Still my favorite signing thus far even with the Temple deal.

Is it a fake account

If you’re referring to the Charles Johnson tweet, I edited that out of my post after realizing it was from 2020. Still, knowing that Gurley wanted to be a Panther is a good sign he may sign a team-friendly deal. Especially coming off injury.

So how would y'all feel about this?

This would be our fournette pickup.  To mirror what Tampa did last year.  Buy low on a really athletic guy who has a little wear and tear on him.  Gurley and McCaffrey would be a dream backfield.

Todd Gurley isn't very athletic for an NFL RB at this point his knees are held together by twine and duck tape.

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
