Yep.

#8 overall for Minshew and the two Jacksonville second round picks. I mentioned this before but That would be the deal I’d be trying to push. I’d even do Minshew, a second and a third for our #8.

how good do you think Minshew is? I read nfl.com article stating he would go for a 4th at max.... His stats do not reflect his inability to read a defense and weak arm.

Darnold or Minshew?

neither jets or jags are going to get a first round pick in return for thes quarterbacks. They dont have leverage. They are assumingly going to draft their replacements. All teams are going to low ball offer them bc otherwise they just have an extra bench warmer.

Teddy had maybe the best three receiver lineup in the entire NFL and couldn’t eclipse 4000 passing yards. We saw his best season last year. That was it...

I don’t think anyone in the NFL thinks that we’ve seen the best of Darnold yet bc Gase is such a disaster.

Flipping a 3rd for Darnold as a backup to not getting Watson imo is maybe as good or better plan to trading a treasure trove for a top 3 pick. Unless coaches think his problems just aren’t repairable.

The same three receivers that had career years with Bridgewater last season?

This narrative people are spinning is weird.

Darnold. He was the 3rd overall pick just 2 years ago and pretty much everybody is still decently high on him, from the huddle to the media, with most people saying the Jets aren’t really his fault. If you hear all those takes in the media, you’ll probably hear similar around NFL front offices.

And I think the huddle is generally overly optimistic about minimizing what we would have to give up to acquire players or draft picks or what we can get in return for players/draft picks.

These guys are on team friendly rookie contracts. They don’t have to sell at all.

I think he is a little better than teddy and is still improving. I think a third is right for him.  I was impressed when we faced him and I thought he looked even better until he hurt his hand. Contract is decent, player is young.

A third and two seconds would match up with our first round pick on the draft value chart, I believe.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
