What are we doing in the draft?

I wonder what Verge thinks. I don't think Verge saw this coming at all....And if you see this Verge are we still going QB in the draft?

To @Verge’s credit, she had Darnold on our radar as someone we would want depending how things went.

sounds like post 49ers trade that got speed up and more expensive.  Sounds like we negotiated the picks for a bit.

I would like to know if QB is still in play and not off the table come draft like the GM said

I got clarity about Darnold on Saturday. Didn't leave much room for speculation lol

I still think we could go QB, but it is much more likely we got get a CB or olineman.

Apparently discussions started at Justin Fields' Pro Day - so this has been 5 days in the making.

I think people are reading too much into the "they didn't like QBs #3 & #4" as opposed to ensuring we had Teddy's replacement already in house in case plans went awry on draft night.  Teddy was not going to be here next season and Darnold was the nail in that coffin.    In 12-24 months Sam might be very well  be getting that same one-way ticket out of Charlotte.  I mean does the staff love Grier and Walker that much?

Word on which one we prefer?

I think we will trade down to be honest.  OL will almost certainly be addressed with our first pick regardless.

If we aren't drafting a QB, honestly trading down and picking up future assets is probably my preference.

I don't want to trade WAY down, but sliding back to say a few spots and getting that '22 2nd rounder back? Yeah, I'd take that.

    • I had everything saved on an old email address and my computer crashed and could not be revived.  I tried reviving it, then stumbled on one I was going to create several years ago...So I am using it instead.  My fault--did not keep the email and forgot password--
    • Rasheed Walker for Kris Jenkins Jr.is what i am actually referring to in that particular post  all those #'s you are referring to are athletic #'s & Monroe Freeling had or has an impressive combination of size & raw athletiscm & it has nothing do with his size or athelticsm that is preventing him from being a day 1 starter in the NFL technique is where he struggled at the NFL combine & not only scouts but analysts alike also viewed him as more of a developmental type of player rather than a day 1 starter  go take a look at Will Campbell transition from the SEC to the NFL another first round LT that was drafted #4 overall by the New England Patriot,s.Will Campbell was a three year starter at  LSU & was thought to be one of if not the very best LT's in the SEC  & compare his SEC carrer to his rookie season in the NFL? just because you played good in the SEC at LT does nescarrily mean you are ready to start at LT in the NFL day 1 & or your rookie season  & one last thing i think you are jumping to conclusion & somehow assuming that i do not like Monroe Freeling ?which could not be further from the truth .what i do not like is the idea starting a player who is not ready ...just saying
    • I'd 10x rather play the NFC North than NFC West.
