Jersey number rule change passes

I should have been more specific, i meant for current players already rostered. But yes, these rookies are going to get first dibs!

I remember when they officially let receivers and TEs wear numbers in the teens in 2004.  Almost all of the top pass catchers grabbed numbers in the teens.  The top 3 (Larry Fitzgerald, Kellen Winslow and Roy Williams) specifically grabbed #11.  Kellen Winslow ended up buying #80 off of a teammate going into the season.

I think #1 is going to be one of the hottest numbers in the league now.  So it goes back to what someone else asked...do we retire it?

This rule change will also make it a lot easier to retire jerseys since there’s less positional constraint now. I highly doubt a Panther ever wears 89 or 1 again, maybe even 59

How do we retire #1 when it was given by one of the most racist owners in the league. Probably should just move on from that era.
