Josh Norris had us trading the number eight pick to the chargers so that they could take Penei Sewell. Then we take Rashawn Slater at thirteen.

Not really a fan of that. I'd rather just take Sewell.

That won't happen.

Why do you think Sewell is better than Slater?

Honestly I'd be more than happy if we traded down to 20 and still ended up with AVT, may not be the answer at LT but he's still a damn good OL prospect and a day one starter. Agreed an RB at 39 is insane, but Javonte is absolutely nuts. Maybe in a dream world we realize McCaffrey's contract is awful and could find someone to take him off our hands.

Given the trade, I would've gone:

Darrisaw - OT, VT

Asante Samuel, Jr. - CB, FSU

Davis Mills - QB, Stanford

Chazz Surratt - LB, UNC

Josh Myers - IOL, OSU

Talanoa Hufanga - SS/LB, USC

James Hudson - OT, Cincy

James Wiggins - FS, Cincy

Another 3rd round QB?....no thank you

I'm shocked how many of you seem opposed to trading down. This is the way all the best teams operate. Trading down to 13 and still walking away with Slater would be another absolute homerun night one scenario.

That’s assuming slater is there

Trade down is good if you do it right but is fuging horrible if done wrong.

IMO you don't trade down below 15 unless someones offering you a future first rounder. You don't trade down to any position if you're getting a piss poor deal (ex. trade down to 19 and pick up a 3rd rounder).

Staying at 8 and going BPA has a ton of merit still. Keep in mind we're picking in the top 10 of almost every round so our 1st 2nd and 3rd rounders have a ton of value by themselves.

I think people are in love with the idea that we can fix the entire team perfectly in one offseason and are also obsessed with trying to make up for the picks we gave up for Darnold from next years draft. The only pick we gave up for him that has much meaning is the 2nd rounder . Oh boo hoo you lost a 2nd rounder. Get over it. Acting like we gave up 5 firsts for darnold lol.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
