Interesting theory about cycling QB's. I mean I doubt it would ever happen but the theory is interesting.Ā

Some draft people say that you should draft a 1st round QB every year because the upside is so high and the risk is so low. Meaning you draft a 1st round QB, he stinks you can often still trade him for a #1 or high value pick. (See Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Carsen Wentz, as an example).Ā

I get the feeling that's more likely to end with Roman being let go than Jackson.

A 3rd round comp pick for a 24 year old MVP winning QB? Yikes. Nah, they'd trade him for a very significant haul.

The only reasons I'm saying they should consider it is 1) his heavy running style will likely eventually lead to injury issues and 2) his trend of poor playoff performances is becoming concerning.

I've been pushing this theory for a while now. I don't think any team is ready to take that leap just yet. It's why I believe we should not pass on Fields or Lance if they are there.Ā 

There is a huge market inefficiency when it comes to qbs in the NFL. As it stands, having a starting qb on a rookie contract gives youĀ an extra $15-25m in cap space for the rest of your team.Ā 

As trade capital, no other position comes close.Ā So why not draft a qb every year. Not necessarily 1st round, but maybe top 3. Rookie contracts last 4 years. If half of them end up being backup level, you can still recoup the cost trading them away. If even 25% end up above average, your willĀ have 10-12 picks in every draft.Ā

      He gets good catches and circus catches, he fugs up both with regularity. Not to mention he is atrocious at getting open. He will never be even a mediocre WR because doesn't care to be one.

      You didn't have to drop AT. Even in hindsight, there is not a single logical argument or excuse for why they did what they did. The true answer, is that they were stupid. Just plain, regular real world stupid.
