(I think CMC will possibly catch 1 TD and Rush for at least 1, and Dan Arnold will grab a TD in this Game)

Our defense will be top 10 this season. Prolly will be no higher than 10th but I see promise. And this week 1 game will be a confidence booster. For Reddick (people think he can't repeat last your or improve), Darnold (pretty obvious why), and CMC (comeback from injury).

We get as many interceptions off of Wilson than he had all last year at BYU (4) and 3 sacks. 

 

I don't think he'll throw 4. I think they'll be running the ball heavily this game. Maybe our DL holds and forces them to make plays through the air.

I'll only buy into that as one of Darnolds TDs will probably be a screen to McCaffrey.  He make 12 Jets miss tackles and takes it 60 yards to the house.

That just seems like something McCaffrey would do. Also seems like something the Jets would do.

i'm going to flip this some. Drew Locke threw 4 on us last year. I say Wilson hits 300 in first game with 3-1. they have no running game. I think Darnold goes 250 and 2-2 if not 1-2 b/c we have CMC running. Should win but it'll be like 34-31

If our defense allows the jets to score 31 points I will be worried for this season.

It won't be the same secondary or opponent. What does that game have to tell us about this one? Is this just general pessimism?

i'm not being homeristic. Set your bar low. Jets have a new everything and no film to go by. At least we will be at home. Hopefully tickets be cheap.

Much rather play the Jets week one than week nine or ten.... they have a lot of speed with their rookies and adding a big target like Corey Davis will huge for Wilson. 

I also don't see Darnold tossing 4 TDs and us running 1 in against a Robert Saleh defense. 

Prediction:

 

Darnold : 295 yards - 2 TD - 1 INT

CMC : 140 total yards - 1 receiving, 1 rushing TD

Robby : 7-95-1TD

Defense feasts on Wilson and causes 4 turnovers. I see a pick-six or fumble recovery for a TD.

Panthers win 31-19.

      I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.

      We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
