Looks like Watson will settle lawsuits

Was there ever any real doubt this would all be concluded with a settlement? They should have just skipped to this part and gotten it over with. If he actually did anything wrong hopefully he learned next time he needs a massage with a happy ending to just go one of those shady neon sign light on legit jack shacks to keep things simple.

Pretty much called this. Innocent or guilty its just easier to pay them off.

Yeah and it's pretty fuged up regardless. If he's innocent it's fuged up that he's essentially forced to pay because the alternative of fighting it is a long process with no guarantees that he'll actually be found innocent as it's a he said she said case. And if he's guilty it's fuged up that these victims would just accept money to let him walk free. fuged up all around.

Pretty much how it goes this day.

IMO, If they accept money and none of them say "I don't want no stinking settlement", it just proves that they were all lying out of their ass in order to get paid.

Hmm....I take it mrcompletely11 didn't like that take of mine.   🤔

Perhaps he'd like to tell me in his own words why he didn't like it instead of just lurking and reacting....  Just saying...

I mean...since they were victims in this, they should NEVER accept settlements if Watson did this crap to them.  They should've gone after him since he committed a Criminal act to them.

Sorry, but It's difficult to be sympathetic to them if they just took the money.

Plus, it makes them look less believable that they were victims and more that they were looking to cash in on a high-profile Highly-Paid Professional Sports Athlete.

It is what it is.

Maybe they just want Watson to acknowledge what he did and this settlement includes that.

    • Oh, I get it. I called him Peewee for the first couple of years. He is too small to be an NFL QB. It wasn't as much of a problem in college, even in the SEC, because every player in the NFL is the size and speed of the biggest 22 on your entire college team.  I was left scratching my head over the pick and what we traded to get him (and yes, that cost analysis is unavoidable). Now we're sunk into the third season and the kid just popped a frikkin' amazing game out there where he showed every mark of what you need in a top end QB. Great passing, mobility, guts, toughness (that ankle must have been killing him) and the ability to put a team on his back to claw back a win. He didn't win it with his arm so much as by getting the ball to the right people at the right time, but that is what the best do. Do I believe he's going to be our QB of the future here? I'm still out on that. Way out on that. But I'm at least intrigued. Can he replicate what he did or even get close? Can he perform well against the power opponents we have left on the schedule? Heck, can he even beat New Orleans this season?  Right now, my personal feeling is that he'd make a heck of a back-up QB. He could prove me wrong and excel, though. Maddening as it is, that'd be the best outcome ever. Or he could have just hit his peak. And that would be bittersweet because then we start the whole thing over again. I don't see a reclaimation project QB out there right now that Canales can work his magic on.
    • The Niners didn't want him. I think to some extent they were publicly shamed into making an offer when it was revealed he was not in their plans.
    • I think that is a price and attitude thing. Reportedly he was a bit of a handful for Shanahan, although admittedly not enough to not sign him to that big deal. I also think this may be much ado about nothing. If we plays this season, I suspect they will likely not move on from him.
