So what there are 31 other teams in the league. His spot here is probably gone, but he could try to show some sort of effort if he wants to get picked up by someone else.

I guess he is ok with being out of the league and is happy with the money he has made already.

I doubt 31 other teams are watching our practice to see how hard Ian Thomas jogs around the track.

Zods not paying too much attention to the lines other than lineup until pads are on.  Which makes sense

Its early.

Sure, but Daley being the best LT early isn't a good sign. No one here, nor any expert expected that.  It's definitely a cause for concern. We need everyone to get healthy and some a positive sign there.

Yeah, I found that odd, did he even play LT much last year?   Even Scott had a few starts there.

Maybe this is the best time to give the  lineman a chance to get try the motions and feel for the other line positions.  Daley at left, Moton at left.

What better time to experiment with different people in different places?

If not now, when?

No but the Carolina coaching staff sure sees it.  And coaches are a big fraternity who are networked with each other.  So you don't want to have a reputation as a lazy guy or poor worker.   It could affect whether another team takes a chance on you or not.

I guess he sees the writing on the wall.  Its too bad, I had such high hopes his rookie year.

Or he thinks "that's a College punishment and this is the NFL" - only Rhule is going to run a tight ship so he'd best get used to it.

I'm sure he was thinking it was beneath a pro...and then he didn't handle it professionally.

Don't think Daley played much at all last year.

If I recall correctly, he was hurt for most of it.

Yeah, he started a couple at guard, I thought. I don't remember him playing tackle... ah well...too lazy to look up.

- The defense feels like far and away the more cohesive and aggressive unit. They are well ahead of the offense when it comes to swagger, and it isn't close. The offense could really use a vocal leader stepping up.

Ironically, I'd look for Robby in this area.

DJ and Marshall are just quiet

Moton, CMC are more lead by example types.

Anderson would be the talker. And possibly Darnold by training camp.

To be fair, at this time of year the defense should look better than the offense. And that's even true of teams that don't have a new quarterback.

Absolutely.  Defense almost always outshines Offense in early season camps, regardless of the team.

Offense is a big dance where everyone has to learn the steps.  That group coordination takes time & practice.  Defense is far more "read & react" which favors raw athleticism.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
