The worst with a clean pocket, the worst in the red zone…

I liked fields, I thought his deep ball is incredible.  I love his mobility as well.  Having said that its incredibly telling to me that with his resume, skill set and size that he dropped like a rock.  I am not smart enough to break down his film and see how it translates to the NFL but to me I think if all of those qb needy teams looked at his tape and still passed then maybe there is something to the whole "he cannot process a NFL defense fast enough" theory.  Plus he locks on receivers far too much and that is an incredibly bad habit in the NFL

Drop like a rock??? He was projected to be the 3rd/4th QB drafted. The Niners preferred Lance which left the Lions as the next team at 7 needing a QB (and they just got Goff). He dropped to 11? You know around the area Mahomes and Watson were drafted. Dropping like a rock would be Rodgers going from potentially 1 to 24.

Sam is a seasoned NFL veteran, period.

Yes.  Not many NFL QB's have 3 years and are as young as some rookies.

We agree here.

NO competition for Sam and his fragile psyche!!I

"Fragile psyche" isn't supported by the preponderance of the evidence.  He didn't break down with the merciless NY media, the crappy jets oline, crappy jets wrs,  crappy coaches, crappy scheme, crappy snapping, the internet meme generators, or the incessant ghost jokes that btw weren't really funny the first time,  and now years later have grown beyond old.

We didn't trade Teddy to protect Sam.  TB's guarantee would have went from $10 million to $17 million if he was Carolina's Week 1 roster.  We saved $6 million in 2021 and $26 million in 2022.  That sixth round pick we got for Teddy, we used to trade up to get BC.

In the meantime "we" don't owe him anything.

You're right... you can welcome him with derision and bashing if you like.

I personally didn't like the pick at the time either.  I've chosen to try to see how this can work.  You should try it.

Another guy posting poo that’s already known and been talked about, awesome

If you are trying to call someone out, you may want to be a little more specific. There's a bunch of us who fit that description. lol

Talking about the OP. How many times are we going to see this same stat about darnold. Anyone following the team or this forum would’ve already seen this

I think that Tepper is patient, but not to a fault. He's a man of high expectations and results.

Well, that estimation goes both ways, doesn't it?

Tepper has made his money running a hedge fund, during a volatile and roaring bull market.  So some credit for his "high results" owes to the market environment in which he traded.

As for Rhule, he too has "high expectations and results" on his resume -- and with no easy environment resurrecting the 2 college programs, at both of which his program of 'process' owes solely to his vision and leadership.

Certainly Tepper signs the checks, and the contracts.  But that doesn't mean that he's any smarter -- or competent -- than Rhule.

Too much speculation on results and repercussions 2-3 years in the future.  No one in the world knows how this will play out.  I say let's stand back, root for our team, and see what transpires.

Darnold showed flashes his first year.  Tbf, he actually did his 2nd year too. His stats weren't spectacular, but if you look at individual games, it does tell a bit of a different story.  Still his level of improvement will need to be at a level that we really haven't seen before from a QB.  Tannehill had good seasons previously, and while its true his during Gase numbers were pretty much as bad as Darnold, he'd at least shown something prior.

I personally am skeptical he'll really be our QB of the future, but there's a reason I'm sitting on a computer at home on Saturday and not in some NFL team's office.

You claim everyone has an opinion. Yet your first sentence kinda goes against that. But yeah, ain't it a great country?

That's what is known as a fact --- not open for debate.

I do have a question- Say Sam had the same last 3 years with the Jets at some mid-level college. USC is not in this time-lime, his college years are the jets numbers.

Where would he get drafted or is UDFA a possibility?
