Doesn’t mean Rhule isn’t going to be asked about it weekly.  See it in the papers.  Hear about it.  He doesn’t want that.

and to date, Menhew has been the more impressive QB.

We know. He believes in PJ and Willy, just like he did Joey, just like he did Teddy.

Just a little slow...

Sam is our QB stfu and accept it or go find another team to root for you so sick of hearing you whine and bitch about it.

Are you high risk for covid? Are they keeping you out of school for some reason? Do you read any of what you type before you hit "Submit Reply"?

Per Schefty.

I know there was some interest here on the huddle.

Seems like Sirianni (sp?) has never really been on board with Hurts.  Interesting to see what happens.

A legit starting QB with all the promise/potential everyone looks for, is traded for cond 6th?!?!??!?!??!!??!!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!!?!??!!!?!?!?!?!?!

Finesserer been active, this is a big missed opportunity. Look even if wanted to keep the ginger cringer as #1, Gardner is 10000000x better than walker/grier. fug

That is sort of how I viewed it. Even if he was brought in here to be a backup while Sam gets his new shot... this would have made our QB room infinitely better than it currently is. Pretty sure Minshew had more touchdown passes thrown after his first start in the NFL (2) than Walker and Grier have thrown combined in all their passing attempts in the NFL. 108 attempts for our two boys and still haven't made it to 2 touchdown passes. Minshew had that in 28 attempts.

On the flip side, looking at interceptions... Minshew has 11 interceptions in 797 pass attempts.

Our two boys have thrown 9 already in like 106 pass attempts.

You don't expect 6th rounders to produce in the NFL the way Gardner has. I mean, hes outproduced Sam as well as a former first rounder. The Eagles basically gave up nothing for a young guy who has already performed well with lesser talent around him.

Yea agree on all your statements.....IM really pissed off about this. QB that has already showed he can play on a team that was one of the weakest around?? At one point playoff talk was around, he was running for his life much the same as Darnold was on the jets........ expect more TDs, more Wins, and better decisions.....If you watched both Darnold and Minshew pro tape and had to guess which one was the former 3rd overall pick.... it would be close to 100% Minshew. My first real pissed off moment for the new GM..... very low risk/cost very very high reward/value....hes still on his rookie deal..

^^^ Fair point but again...the whole QB controversy thing that Rhule probably did not want.

Personally, I would've traded for him and told him "You are the backup.  Do not expect to start unless absolutely necessary".

A 6th rounder for him, though?   Damn right, the Jags fleeced.  jesus....

fug Sam Darnold feelings, if he is upset about adding talent to the QB room, maybe the NFL is not your sport.

Not even joking if both Sam and Minshew arrive at the same time during the off-season and told to compete for the starting job.....Minshew wins eaaasyyy. Plus the cost for Darnold was 2nd, 4th and 6th???? Minshew an cond6th???? Pleaseee, its too easy, not to mention hes on the cheaper contract......Its advantage Minshew at every turn.

Minshew would be a great backup. Much better than what we have. The difference between him and Darnold is Minshew is physically limited as far as NFL standards go and Darnold’s issues have all been mental. One can possibly be corrected by coaching and the other can’t.  Minshew has the better mustache though and would have paired nicely with our new kicker…

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
