I always wanted to have a big draft with 10+ draft picks like all the "smart teams" do. I said after the draft if we hit on 6 of these players meaning they are starters/solid contributors it would go along way in facilitating our rebuild.......time will tell, but so far so good

It is also an excellent way to keep the cap down, having lots of players on rookie contracts, wheeling and dealing players that are going to demand a lot of cap space to remain on the team.

Brady Christensen 70 T 6-6 300 24 R BYU

Jaycee Horn 8 CB 6-1 200 21 R South Carolina

Phil Hoskins 71 DT 6-5 280 24 R Kentucky

Chuba Hubbard 30 RB 6-1 210 22 R Oklahoma State

Terrace Marshall Jr. 88 WR 6-2 200 21 R LSU

Daviyon Nixon 94 DT 6-3 305 22 R Iowa

Shi Smith 12 WR 5-10 190 22 R South Carolina

Keith Taylor 28 CB 6-3 195 22 R Washington

Tommy Tremble 82 TE 6-4 250 21 R Notre Dame

Add 6 more from 2020 and our talent base is getting younger.  Pride is on IR so he's not included but he would make 7.

I thought that too but how do you explain Ian Thomas?

I don't think any blanket statement applies to what we are doing. It's not like Rivera where he seemed to have some very inflexible rules and principles. I think Rhule and Co. seem to have a general framework for what they want to achieve but with some case by case flexibility built in to achieve it.

But....we also don't have the track record and information to discern trends on this coaching staff yet.

How?

Realistically, the start of this teams competitive window opens next year if they’re able to take another step forward this season.

This year you want to see 7-9 wins. 7 wouldn’t be the best of leaps but it’s progress. Pending on how we lose those games I suppose.

Next year you want to see them flirting with one of those wildcard spots or just sneaking in.

Then we’ll have all these rookies going into year 3 ready to make a real push hopefully.

He didn't say bad long term.  It's not good short term however.  When has a team with a bunch of super young players gone on to do anything (college or pros)?  Most rookies don't pan out, even if they did make the roster year 1.  We need players that have been in the NFL for 3 years. Lets judge this again next year and see how many of those rookies make 53 in 2022.

After a couple decades of 1 and done drafts, this is strange and foreign to me.

You’re telling me, we could have added more than 1 rookie at a time?

I don’t know sounds like a bunch of hooey, a fad, like this spider net or web world or whatever the kids are playing checkers on these days.  Slackers.

Pie for spider net.

That is the post.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
