So by old standards, CMC and Moton for Offense, Burns, Shaq for Defense, JJ and Zylstra for special teams

Cam came into an offense that featured established pro bowlers/life long Panther leaders on the OL and WR spot.   I don't think it was a knock on Cam's leadership at the time.  Just like it wasn't a knock on Kalil for never jumping Gross/Smith until Ron altered the captain criteria.

 What it was, was a clear indication he wasn't top-3 on the offensive side of the ball.

Kalil still didn't "jump them"...

The changes are a slippery slope leading to a participation trophy type culture -- suboptimal.

Looks like last year was 3 on O (including Teddy), 3 on D...and 6 total.  

This year appears to be 4 on O, 3 on D, 1 special teamer...and 8 total.  

Gerrymandering at its finest!

Ham it up and now this is a great looking shitposting thread with cp1 in here pouring his everlasting walker love. I honestly thought there was a 50/50 chance that Darnold would not be captain. Why, you ask? Rhule, QB coach Ryan, Brady and others have repeating said " We dont need Sam to be a leader, just make the throws. etc etc" Felt like they were prepping the team/media/fans for Sam not getting the C, tea leaves are wrong......now that they have 8 feels like they OD on naming them. 15% of the whole team is a captain??.......add this to the list of WRs and TEs of too god dam many....

      It's a little weird to say both of these things. If Hunter isn't anything close to an NFL corner yet, by your definition then, no rookie in the history of the NFL has faced anyone close to an NFL corner in college and thus should are in for rude awakenings. As the previous post says, all rookies have their welcome to the NFL moment, but that doesn't mean they can't be confident about themselves.  What 1st Round WR comes in these days without that "buckle up" type of mentality thinking they're going to crush it from day 1, that's who WRs are, especially the good ones. Yes, playing in a grown man game with be a step up from what he's played in college, but again, that's the exact same thing that every player in the history of the NFL has gone through, it's not like T-Mac is in for some special surprise the rest haven't been.
