exactly. its week 3. you get him back by week 13ish and hopefully at that time we are in strong wild card contention.

Not really. Worst case scenario would've been achilles. This is likely only season ending if our season falls apart and we don't want to risk bringing him back. The long end of the recovery is 3 months which puts us in December. He should be back for a few regular season games and playoffs if we're still in that conversation. Pretty good news all things considered. There was never a chance with the way it looked and his reaction that this wasn't going to at least be a few month recovery. Just thrilled it's not a 6-8+ month recovery and potential career altering injury.

Yes, achilles was the absolute worst fear.

 

But I meant worst case for "just a fracture".  If you are breaking multiple bones in the middle of your foot, there has to be ligament damage as well.   I just don't see any chance he comes back this season.

Depends. Could be a hairline fracture that heals up in a month. But the way Horn was grimacing and needing help off the field, I have a feeling it’s a more extensive injury.

      After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.

      The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.

      I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
