Anyone else got a bad feeling about this Eagles game?

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. The Panthers beat two teams with a rookie QB and Jameis Winston who I wouldn’t consider a quality QB. The Cowboys beat the hell out of this defense with their run game, laying a blueprint for other teams. The only reason that Cowboys game didn’t appear to be a blowout is because Trevon Diggs left the game in the 4th quarter and Darnold threw the ball at whoever was covering guys in his spot, allowing the Panthers to claw back.

Bottom line is, this Panthers team is really banged up and not as good as the roster that hit the field Week 1. The Eagles are going to be a tough out for an undermanned Panthers team.

I’ve heard this “…they laid out the blueprint…” a bit. Who else has the combination of Dallas O-line, RBs etc?

Also, do you really think we will make no adjustments at all moving forward?

We’ve only played 4 games, a lot will change and if we meet Dallas again in the playoffs we will be ready.

I guess LA Rams is done for the year, everyone can just use the Cardinals blueprint, the Packers season is over, just use the Saints blueprint…

I don't understand the thought that because the offensive line is bad, it means by default the backups are better. Is it possible? Yes, but who knows to what degree even if so. We legit might just have no solid offensive line options. The Norwell type situations aren't all that common, imo.

Personally my thinking is more in the vein of:

the backups can't be worse than this so nothing to lose by playing them. On the other hand they are rookies, so the upside is speeding their development, and perhaps better play. Either way is their really a downside to playing them at this point? Can you say with a straight face that they are likely to be worse than what we've seen?

I'm not sure it's possible.  If anything it's a push.

I think they will be able to run on us.

and I have never forgotten Fletcher Cox almost single handedly beating us after being a last minute activation that was hurt all week.

I think we win.  I don’t think we will feel great after it.  But that’s also just how football is.

Cox is an absolute beast.  He alone is a lot to be worried about.

To answer the OP, no, I don't have a bad feeling,  because this is a winnable game being played at home.

I can’t shake this bad feeling the Panthers are going to lose to the Eagles on Sunday. The Eagles haven’t exactly had an easy schedule except from playing the listless Falcons (which they won handily). The Eagles seem ready to put together a solid game again.

Our GM is already talking about this team “planning on making the playoffs”, yet this team has accomplished literally nothing so far. It’s a bit early for any of that playoff talk in my honest opinion. I get the confident mentality, but it’s Week 5…

I worry the Panthers run defense got exposed against the Cowboys. The defense is pretty banged up. With Horn and Burris on IR, and Shaq Thompson out, the Eagles can exploit the Panthers odd fronts like the Cowboys did. I see the Eagles getting their running game on track in this game.

On offense the offensive line is decimated by injury and general lack of talent and skill. The Eagles still have Fletcher Cox and a lot of pass rushing talent. Darnold will be running for his life yet again.

The advantages are the Panthers are at home, and Jalen Hurts is a young QB who will make a few bad throws. I expect the Eagles offense to turn the ball over. Can the Panthers capitalize and protect the football themselves?

We will see, and I really hope my concerns are for nothing. Maybe the Eagles are way worse than I think they are. But I’ve got a bad feeling about this game given the injuries and complete decimation of the defense in the last game.

Your header suxs!! Panthers should not lose this game!!

    • Exactly, I mean it as no offense to his coaches, but they coach at Holy Cross and not a Power 5 school for a reason. Given his success at that level and his solid testing, I'm surprised he went undrafted, seems like the type that could excel once he gets NFL level coaching. One of higher expectations I've had for an UDFA in a long time.
