They saw a Strong arm, mobile, and young. Unfortunately rhule has shitt for brains so he couldn’t tell Darnold also has shitt for brains

Agree but reality is we didn't know if Darnold still being younger then Burrows was poo for brains or The Jets organization and Gase coaching was the problem.. And we still truly don't know...

Remember when they were scared to play him in the preseason? I think it was obvious that he sucked then. Too late.

Yea, it was obvious they saw in camp that whatever they were trying to get him to learn or understand just wasn’t happening. They saw this and tried to protect him or hide him.

Now I disagree..

I think they knew the Oline was a major problem and knew this would be a result earlier if he got hit like this consistently in the preseason..

I think that they were praying for a healthy CMC covering for the Oline and gelling together with more reps and time would make them better....

They said early they Hopefully be treating Sam like a rookie and he could game manager for most of the season... Cmac injury, Oline horribleness and now WR dropping everything threw that out the window...

He's hated Cam Newton for no reason for years. He should have been off the air a long time ago. He's only still there to appeal to other shitty people stuck in a bygone era just like himself.

Everything they said Cam is and was is what Darnold is. He’s not very accurate, and he doesn’t process what he sees on the field. Now, I’m not one of those people who want Cam back, because I think he’s about done, but Cam is and was the best QB this franchise has ever had. He was a franchise QB for us.

Rhule likes projects and they saw a project in Sam. He probably thought he and the staff could correct his flaws and we would have Tepper’s dream franchise qb

Not so sure how many more chances Rhule will get before Tepper decides to move on.

I agree.. Most Coaches worth there salt think they can fix players.. Payton is proving that with Jameis..

Well, he’s 0-2 in picking QBs. It’s usually 3 strikes and you’re out, so I imagine he’ll get one more shot. For his sake, he better realize the mistake he made in Darnold quickly and pick better when it comes to selecting another QB.

When Watson and Stafford fell through, he should’ve probably went apologizing to Teddy and tried to make it work. Draft Fields or Jones, and used Teddy for the stopgap he was

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
