Apathy

Last Sunday was the first time this season that I turned off the game early and went back to chores. I didn't want to be a slave to the misery that watching them has become the last few games, progressively worse each week. It's a shame because I was excited to see how they'd improved this team.

Now, I'm not sure whether I'll even tune in this week. It saddens me to feel that way.

They need to fix this fast. None of this from you guys sounds good at all.

The huddle IS the fan base. The most loyal and there seems to be no hope among the longtime huddlers.

We've all been through enough with the Panthers to see when things are about to go off the rails and it's apparent to us something is wrong with our organization.

The flailing attempts at gaining relevancy isn't something we're used to.

There needs to be very serious talks at BofA, losing a diehard fanbase to apathy should be fought off like the plague.

Sometimes you need to go back to what works and form alliances with those who will work with you willingly instead of chasing skirts desperately.

The bolded is true.

If WE are checking out, then the rest of the fanbase has long ago done the same.

Want a "wine and cheese" fanbase?  This is the way to do it.

Fill the stadium with fans who can't name 3 of our players and incoming fans looking for an easy W.

Way to go Dave.

Since when is Tepper responsible for the day to day construction of the football team. He seems like he wants to win. He has repeatedly said he wants a franchise QB (and before someone says it yes Cam WAS a franchise QB but when Tepper got here he was NOT a franchise QB. Injuries had taken a toll on him, if he was still a franchise QB he would be starting in NE or starting for SEA or WAS or HOU or some other team).

He said he wasnt confident in Bridgewater and so he is gone. He is creating state of the art facilities. He pushed for Stafford and Watson. Stafford didnt want to come here and Watson has all the legal issues. Elite QBs dont grow on trees and are not easily available except through the draft. When those two didnt work out and it was clear Bridgewater wasnt the answer, what did you want them to do? Roll with PJ or Grier? Draft Fields and let him hold the ball forever behind this OL? Draft Jones? Or throw a hail mary and give Darnold a shot?

In the last 2 years who do you want them to get? Outside of Stafford, they arguably went after the biggest name they could in each of the last 2 years (yes Brady and Rivers were available but no neither wanted to come here). And do you want him to start meddling in the football operations like Jerry Jones.

I guarantee Tepper is not happy with how things are going. You can tell by the look on his face when the show him during games, but what other moves at QB would you have made if you were him

I totally understand.

You also have PANTHERS TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

Decades of incompetence do that

Now, a coach who doesn’t appear to get the importance of a qb, and a competent backup and the salary cap   It isn’t helping

I had and have serious doubts about Rhule and his staff and about Rhule’s ability to know the Nfl is full of specialist athletes  that do their specific jobs  extremely well   Being versatile is great but it is so much more than that and you just can’t ‘coach them up.

Too, tepper’s made the stadium and stadium atmosphere extremely cold.

There is absolutely nothing special about it and then to have those ‘stadium on field seats’  full of opposing fans…..in an end zone where kids used to get balls after TDs, poor just poor

The music that is played while the players are warming up and piped to the restrooms and other areas is hideous and vulgar and look, I’m no prude but I don’t want to hear WAP and the rest with my family and friends there

the team store is CMC and the freaking soccer  team

I try and remember it is a beautiful day  it is a privilege to go the games on Sunday and spend time with my friends   It works…until kickoff

Yeah, I enjoyed rap when I was younger but damn it is cringeworthy and tasteless now

Apathy is not the right word. More like frustration from a lot of places:

1. Losing in general

2. Injuries to the players we need the most. CMC especially. Can't catch a break here.

3. Darnold regressing far more than expected. However, see 4.

4. A franchise that hasn't fully comprehended in ages that the foundation of the offense are the Uglies. A bad one will make the entire unit worse and evaluation difficult.

5. A fanbase that throws out cliched complaints and farfatched solutions (although this is universal across all fanbases).

6. An owner who (supposedly) wanted to pursue an option that would've been the dumbest thing this franchise has ever done, both from a PR standpoint and the insane asking price that would've torpedoed this franchise for years.

I'm taking my own advice and only taking occasional glances at what is going on. I can't get too upset about something I ultimately have no control over.

This is really true. I haven't been to a home game since Tepper took over until I went to the Vikings game two weeks ago. The atmosphere was HORRIBLE and just way different than I remember. The entire lower level was probably 60% Minnesota fans. They had what appeared to be about 10 full sections right behind their team's bench. I didn't bother with the team store or any of that but it definitely didn't feel like much of a home field advantage. There is no player on the team that the casual or average fan would even care to see. If Tepper's not careful this franchise will turn into the Jags and the Browns. There needs to be a serious positive PR infusion and soon or things are going to get really ugly.

He directly hires all of the people who are responsible for the product on the field. I'm not sure how you could be much more responsible for what goes on day to day.  The success of a football team in the NFL ultimately falls on the owner, head coach, and GM and to a lesser extent the coordinators. Tepper is at the top of the chain so, yes, it's his fault this team and franchise are going in the completely wrong direction and are being led by people who seem to have no idea what they are doing.
