Yes, you do. Guys like Brown make the whole line click. Their productivity isn’t measured in individual stats.

We definitely made the right choice. Our defense fell off a cliff after we lost Star. Brown is someone that can be built around.

Well Brown is currently ranked #10 in Pass Rush Win Rates for DT's, so it seems like he is actually doing that job pretty well.

Technically, Brown has had a much bigger impact in the pass rushing department than he has in run support. To date, he has been surprisingly pedestrian as a run stuffer.

Hurney played Hurney-ball and couldn’t see the future. Rhule was new and mistakenly let him. I think Herbert was the desired player. Hurney didn’t try to move up for the first time in his life. Probably could have made the deal with the Giants considering they targeted an OT who wasn’t a top 5 selection to most teams.

We wouldn't have. Hurndog had a big man crush on Herbert. If there's one thing Hurney could do right it was evaluating first round talent.

I would say Brown has been worth it…does anyone not remember how historically bad the run defense in 2019 was? That’s was with Luke too.

I'd rather have Brown given we got Chinn.  Simmons and Chinn are both swiss army knives.  

Brown + Chinn most likely > Simmons + whatever we woud of done.

Hindsight, but we really should have just jumped the Chargers to get Herbert. But this staff would probably ruin him tbh

Chinn is doing everything in our defense Simmons would (and doing it better). The real problem is Brown hasn't become a Vita Vea level player. You just can't run on the Bucs (well, unless you're Khalil Herbert).

Yes that is true. You know it's bad when Hurney was the smart guy in the room. Seeing Herbert have the best season of a rookie QB ever last year was the first MAJOR red flag for Rhule for me.
