Person puts the nail in the Watson to Carolina coffin

This doesn’t put a nail in any coffin. To me, the Dolphins and Panthers think the Texans are asking way too much. Sure, the Panthers are grandstanding saying, “f%ck that, that’s way too much. We’re out.” Classic negotiation tactic.

BUT, I think both Panthers and Dolphins are walking away in hopes that the Texans come down on the asking price. Neither team cares if Watson plays in 2021, they’re looking for a long term franchise QB. So either Texans go down on asking price and trade him by Tuesday or Texans gamble and hope his legal troubles get resolved and they trade him next year.

Never seen so much mud thrown at the wall before. Virtually any take that could possibly be "reported" about this situation has been reported. That way literally anything that happens, these folks are gonna be able to point back to some "report" and say they called it. Yeah, you're gonna get it right somewhere along the way when you slather the entire wall with mud.

That’s why I say I believe none it. I don’t think Panthers are out and wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t get done by deadline then we look into in off-season

LOL I love how they are getting exposed for what they've always done. This person just barely rewords what person said acting like it was new news and person rewording poo that was already said by a different person.

One guy even quoted a guy then the guy was like "huh no". Like the internet still doesn't exist.

Any reporters tweet with "expected" in it as a qualifier does not put a nail in anything by definition.

That's because your IQ is at least 70.

There was a tweet in the mega thread that basically said "Watson to Miami. Uhhh Except literally not"

And people were like AAAAHHHH ITS OVER. Welp there goes that. Thank god now we can move on.

I have no clue what is going on and I don't think any of these media types do either. They're just plastering that wall with mud so that when something happens (or doesn't happen) they can point to some "report" they spammed along the way and claim they called it. That's the state of media these days. It's a 🤡 show.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
