I disagree wrong move and it clearly played out to show it was the wrong move

You still needed a touchdown to win even after the failure to convert on 4th down.  So you needed a touchdown before, and a touchdown after.  So, the decision to go for it didn't matter...  what was of consequence from that sequence of events was burning the timeout.  That did matter.

And imo, going for it on 4th was the right decision for the reasons I stated above - you needed a touchdown to win it regardless.  If you truly believe in your defense, they'll hold them to a FG and it will still take a touchdown to win it.  Plus they burn less clock if you fail to convert because of the short field.

If you punt to them, you risk them chewing the clock to hell and it won't matter anyway.  Also, if you convert on 4th down, none of that other poo matters, but Joe Brady and all...

Ain't he proved it on that wasted timeout on 4th and 4. The fact he didn't already have a plan in place for that situation screams he literally only went for it because the crowd booed him. As a head coach, you should already know whether you are going for it BEFORE it even gets to 4th down. I'm done with this college "cute" coaching staff. They do not have what it takes to succeed in the NFL. Hell, Rhule and Snow couldn't even beat ranked teams in college. This is not surprising.

I remember people bitching about Ron and his time management.   The grass is always greener right.  Ron just beat us on our own field with a back up QB that wasn’t good enough for our roster.

The defense gives up 3rd and 26 and you blame the coach for maybe not having faith that they could stop them punting the ball back??

Was not mad at the call, mad at the indecisiveness and wasting a timeout because of it. Agree 100% with the call, defense couldn't stop anybody all game.

You know it probably wouldn’t have mattered but you punt late there with 3 timeouts and the two min warning.  That was the wrong move clearly.  Down 3 at the time

Washington is capable of playing keep away. I don't think the offense sees the ball again if they punt there.

I agree with that but the RB ran out of bounds so it didn't kill us..

If we blame Rhule for that one mistake.. It still doesn't cover up the "2nd ranked" defense getting beat up missing assignments and missing tackles..

Can't blame the coach for player not making plays they have most of the season..

Shocking that a college coach at a power five school that lost to Liberty, UTSA, and Duke in a span of three weeks is wayyyyy in over his head… just shocking.

Matt Rhule wasn’t the best coach for the job, he was the best salesman.

In college you don’t have to be the best coach, just the best used car salesman.

He sold out at Temple when he told his players that he wasn’t leaving.

He sold out at Baylor when his players found out he was leaving through the media.

He sold out here when he let his ego get bigger than the team and got rid of Cam so he could run things “his way”.

Just think how stupid it it is that we fired someone and then begged them to come back after we realized we messed up.

Fugging idiotic organization from top to bottom.

True, but I think people are missing the underlying point here. It's not even about the wasted timeout (even though that was bad). It was the fact that an NFL coach didn't even know what to do in a situation like that. Good coaches know EXACTLY what they want to do depending on the 3rd down prior. Like "look, if we gain 4 yards on 3rd down, we're going for it". Or "if this 3rd and 4 doesn't work, we're going to go ahead and go for it again on 4th". Rhule didn't know whether he wanted to punt or go for it, and the ONLY reason he called a timeout to go for it was because he was getting flamed from the crowd. So we have a head coach that lets the crowd dictate your strategy. Not a good sign.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
