The don't expect 2015 Cam argument

I know it's not 2015.. I know Cam is 32 and the popular opinion is his skills have diminished. But look at the previous two weeks his legs look as alive as ever putting up near the dame rushing averages and his arm maybe not peak cam due to injuries..but he looks more accurate.

Just not seeing the popular...he's not the same guy mantra.

We should’ve never cut him. Should’ve been drafting a qb behind him to sit and learn so we could make a good transition. Qb play is the most important for chances at sustained success. The panthers fuged up.

This.

Should have been the plan all along. We could have Justin Fields learning behind Cam right now to make a smooth transition in like 3 years.

His legs were never the concern it’s his throwing shoulder and how it holds up after 100+ passes on the season. I’m optimistic it can hold up this season since it’s shorter for him and he was off for a longer offseason than usual but I’m still not sold on him being the answer in a full season or for any potential long playoff runs.

What's different?

He's not the same as a runner. Yes, he's still very, very good but he's not as dynamic as he used to be. His arm looked damn good on Sunday but post-TJ Watt his arm has looked good in spurts but hasn't been able to hold up. If his a holds up down the stretch he should absolutely be back next year.

I mean looking at him run over guys in Arizona, and last week at Washington I honestly don't see a drop off in his running ability at all. Not trying to disagree but he was breaking tackles and goalline running as well as ever. His rushing totals in his first full game are in line with his normal healthy averages.

His arm isn’t the same as it once was, that much is obvious.  He can’t make those throws on a rope 60 yards down field like he used to.  He can still play, though.  He definitely has gas left that in the tank that we can use, and considering we ran him to near empty initially, might as well run with it
