Per some reports, it sounds like Rhule will at least get one more season. What does Rhule have to achieve in 2022 to save his job? I personally think that he has to make the playoffs to even survive. A .500 record or even winning record but missing playoffs will not cut it. I worry that Rhule will be desperate this off season and make bad free agent signings or poor draft decisions to sink us even further.

Tepper won't fire him if we have a winning record. I just don't believe it.

Meanwhile, we've gotten to the point where just being competitive would seem like a massive breakthrough.

I honestly don't care. If Tepper doesn't care why should I?

The 3rd season will be his famed 'turn it around' season he did the last two jobs he had.  This isn't college, not going to miraculously turn it around unless there is a complete overhaul of his coaching staff and he takes some coaching tips from a veteran coach this off-season.

Even with the people we have in place on the roster, we have a team that is capable of being good...not great but good.  And he can't get that out of them so far.

The biggest danger of keeping Rhule is his complete control. He is highly likely to either nuke the cap, trade picks like gangbusters or both. All in an attempt to save his job.

Hence why you never want to have one guy in complete control. That means one guy can pilot the whole enterprise into a fuging iceberg at full steam, rather than just have a leaky compartment that needs repairs.

A great writer said ‘when people show you who they are, believe them….the first time’

The NFL record, the dismantling of he and his coordinator schemes by experienced NFL coaches, the disrespect from other teams players, his own press conferences and the pablum he spews, his mishandling of the draft and free agency, absolutely should show Tepper who this guy is.

I have to say that I’m at the lowest point of my fandom of this team. I had a feeling with Tepper it would be this way.

What I didn’t expect is that the Panthers would be the next Jets and Jaguars because both this owner and coach both think they are the smartest people in a room they have never been in before

Its about the best players, keeping players only until they approach peak, details  and smart schemes, not pablum and pablum is all Rhule has as he sure as hell does not have the other things    He should study st the feet of the NE coach

Yep.  If the message to Rhule this offseason is "win or else", how the hell will he be responsible with our cap and draft?  He'll set us back years just to try and save his own ass which will likely be a futile effort looking at our roster today.  This is the time to start over with an NFL-ready coach who understands our needs and can actually evaluate talent.

LOL, back away from the ledge bro! We care to a certain extent, that's why we are all in here venting on the Huddle! "Does anybody feel like how I feel about the Panthers?!?!" (Checks internet, search carolina huddle, post sh*t, move on with our lives, only to do it again tomorrow.)

I have a feeling if he is retained, that he will be fired before the ends of next years season.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
