I think I know the kind of guy Jon Gruden is and I think he'd love to coach Cam and Coach with this defense in the NFCS. THAT would be entertaining. Gruden won a SB with Tampa.

That's trying to "win".

Yeah...Gruden's not coming here. Nor should he.

When you take a QB who has been in a bad situation with a shitty Oline...and put him on a new team with the very same issues, the blame is not on Sam.

Tepper needs to fix this now...waiting another year is insane.

Any QB would be traumatized playing behind these terrible OLs.  These are very large men trying to knock you into next week.  It gets your attention

Cam doesn’t play scared.

That’s not to say he’s played WELL behind this OL, but he sure as hell don’t play SCARED.  Dude has always been a warrior playing behind the crap OL’s this organization has constantly trotted out in front of fun him and he has paid for it in the currency of blood, injuries, and concussions.

Truly remarkable that Cam didn't succomb to the post-snap happy feet dance like Carr and Darnold.

Cam spent most of his career behind bad OLs.    He doesn’t panic.

It’s like being a punt returner.  You either have ice in your veins or you don’t.  Sam is a panic guy.  Always has been.

In the end? Yeah, I think it matters if your QB plays scared or not.  Because those situations will always exist.  With improved OL play….it can collapse quickly.

No point having a panicking and turnover prone QB.  Fix the OL.  Sam still is Sam.

Acting like Cam never panics is disingenuous.

    • It wasn't a his sack production, it was about his skill set, build, and scheme fit. He's a six foot tall 280 pound DT. He's best used as an interior pass rushing specialist. He can't play the nose in a 3-4 and he doesn't have the length or burst to play he end either. He just wasn't a scheme fit. He'd be a good roster piece as a rotational pass rushing specialist DT to bring in on passing downs in an even defensive front. But you can't hand out a 3 year/$45M contract for that either. Tha type of contract means you have to try to find starter snap numbers for him and that's a problem in a 3-4 front. Hell, it's a problem in a 4-3 front too. That's why the Chiefs were willing to let him walk.
    • Quite a few people argued we way overpaid high end starter money for a guy that was basically a capable backup at best. It was a bad move facilitated by a need to save face after missing out on Williams. It is what it is man. We aren't being paid to carry Dan Morgan's water. It'll be alright.
    • Who else at DT was available coming off a 6.5 sack season, that was relatively affordable?  We took the Milton Williams money and added Turk AND Bobby Brown III. You can't predict soft tissue, and surgery in this case. Part of the business.
