That is an important POV but I worry if Rhule has some kind of B.S. issue against them individually.

He thought BC was a guard which he clearly isn't. That was obvious in preseason. Brown was an insane draft value in the 6th if he could get his weight under control which he has. The only thing I can figure is he took the last of the ribs during lunch one days and pissed Matt off and has been benched almost all season because of it.

Obviously all things fall on the head coach but one thing that people always leave out is that a large part of this falls on the offensive staff and o-line coach. It's through their evaluation of the players from practice and whatnot and then through various meetings and consultations that the decisions on who's playing where and who's starting are made.

I mean obviously the buck stops at Rhule because he's the head coach and he built this staff but he's not making decisions on who to play unilaterally. Everyone responsible for the O-line seems pretty incompetent.

One more concept of rationale... just like a rookie quarterback, its a good idea to let them sit and learn the game before forcing them out there. It's plausible this coaching staff used that approach for the rooks. Who knows.

I hear ya, but I can't quite reach ya.

Rhule's sole year of NFL experience was as . . . an offensive line coach.  The one job he seems to have bungled the most this year is the one he himself has the most pro experience with.  When you start telling the press that your potential LT can't play there because his arms are too short . . . and then that guy drops three of the best grades on your team that season at the position?

We can beat around the bush all we like, but it seems that every decision made on the offensive side of the ball this year has been the worst case scenario.  It makes you wonder how at fault Joe Brady actually was.

Before you completely kill the man, you have to at least acknowledge that Rhule drafted him and Christensen. Clearly he liked them and saw some potential which is starting to translate to the field

He took Deonte over Trey Smith and Smith was plug and play for the Chiefs. We needed plug and play and it's clearly obvious that Rhule doesn't know who to draft or play.

I mean I definitely said that he's the head coach so the fault ultimately lies at his feet but his previous experience as an O-line coach really doesn't mean much in this case.

He's the head coach and he has separate O-line coaches and offensive staff that he presumably trusts. So he's going to take their recommendations and soforth with regards to how well players are progressing and practicing. Now as a head coach when you aren't seeing the results you like you generally, at least temporarily, take a more active role. We just don't know how much of one he's taken in that regard.

Many teams passed over Smith due to health concerns. I don’t know why that gets glossed over. Yes, we should have drafted him and so should 30 other teams, but it was likely our medical staff that caused us to pass.

I still think D Brown will be a solid guard for us. There are many things to be frustrated about with the current staff, but drafting isn’t one of them imo. Last year’s draft was very solid. Horn was a stud from the jump. Tremble and Christensen have flashed. TMJ is young and talented.

Did he? Or did Fitterer? Either way, we could draft the next Peyton Manning and it don’t mean poo if we don’t play him.

Brown will be our starting RG next year. Brady will be our LG. Evan Neal will be our starting LT, Moton RT and Eiflen C. All of a sudden we don’t have a terrible line, it’s completely doable.

no we don't have that shitter at C we have our draft pick there

    • Again, I have have no real issues with the trades, well, maybe the Legette one.  Outside of that, we got good-to-great value out of the trades. I simply don't like what we did once the cards were turned in.  I have yet to see any draft expert in the media love our draft.  It's either average or not that good.  Not all these people are just opining idiots.  Morgan is either a genius or he simply reached.
