Fitterer on tackles and arm length

Feet are everything to a lineman. If you don't have balance, it doesn't matter how long your arms are, you're going to get beat. Greg Little is a perfect example. His footwork was atrocious. Slater has quick feet and short(er) arms but he compensates because his balance is good and his technique is good. I just wish some people understood this.

I don't care if his face looks like an elbow as long as he knows what he's doing.

One thing's for certain: Fitterer came off looking way smarter in his press conference than Rhule did in his.

Reading the actual transcript of Rhule’s response to the Darnold 5th year option is so embarrassing from our culture builder and leader of men, more so than just watching it.

“Umm… ummm… j-, bringing him in to be the starter, you know, knowing that if he had a great year, that he’d, you know, he would- [inhales] he would be a high- high- you know, high priced guy and if- if- if he’s a starter at that number, it’s- that’s- that’s- that’s low-end starter money, so… umm… that was a decision made, umm, uhh it was a collective decision and, you know, umm… uh… I got not much more to say other than that to be honest with you”

He is a polished turd where Rhule is just a slimly turd. He at least knows how to speak NFL vs Rhule bumbling along.

He took a CB over a QB or franchise LT in the first. The guy he drafted in the 3rd is still a maybe with the time he had on the field this year. He also signed 2 dud free agents the first day of free agency. I wouldn't put too much hope in a Rhule GM. The dude sent the farm for Sam and then picked up his 5th year option. Either he is a yes man or he stinks at his job.

He only looks good next to Rhule and that is not saying much at all. And his trading last year was ass. The only positive about Rhule staying is we can fire both and hire better people next year.

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
