The interesting note is the OP confirmation w/ the added news of the contract language.  It's always been his show.

It’s generally been assumed Rhule has always had “final say”…

…but the original poster has”confirmed” nothing — neither he nor Alexander have seen the contract and they have no idea what kind of “language” it contains.

Except that Rhule himself has talked about things being written into contracts, and the interview itself has Rhule indicating that it was talked about during Fitterer's intro press conference (which I haven't re-watched).

Rhule confirmed Friday that, technically, he has final say over the team's roster. But he also made it clear that he's not looking at new general manager Scott Fitterer as a subordinate, either.

"I think in terms of on the contract, a lot of those things probably rest with me," Rhule said. "But that's not something I'm real interested in. I told you guys from the very beginning, . . . I think it's kind of a formality.

"Scott's here to run the personnel. He's here to build the roster. He's here to establish the draft process. I think some things are written into the contract, but I think we're going to work collaboratively and work together."

I believe Rhule does have “final say”…

…but neither Alexander nor Ellis have brought anything new to the table to “confirm” it.

Simply a dead horse beating exercise for clicks… 😏

Very discouraging. So, if Rhule thinks trading away all our picks to get Kurt Cousins or Jimmy G will save him, he can do it and nobody can stop him unless Tepper fires him.

Fitterer is the one who puts the chips on the table. If he doesn't want it on the table, it won't happen. He just can't cut players or sign players unless Rhule agrees. So, for anything to happen Rhule and Fitterer need to agree. That's why everything is moving so slow with personnel changes.

    • Just going off the draft sims and he's always sitting around 20 lol. First year in a while where we haven't been thinking about the draft already in late October so haven't really looked into the top 15-20 picks yet. Also the qb class is super weak so he probably will sneak up into 10-15
    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
