Cousins is a nightmare scenario because he’s good enough to be around .500 and take us out of contention for a top rookie QB.

I’d rather stick with Darnold and tank or even draft Pickett because at least a rookie could morph into something unexpected sometimes.

Mannnnnnn this is what I've been trying to get through to all these people rage posting about Pickett or whichever QB in this draft. We are not tanking. We've drafted two first round QB's in a quarter century. Sometimes you just have to accept circumstances and roll the dice.

He is due 45 million dollars in 2022.  And some on here want this.  Godalmighty

Any trade would obviously come with the Vikings paying a large portion of his salary. Come on man, I thought you were a GM in the making. These are basic things.

If we were able to trade for Cousins without sacrificing the #6 pick, a pairing of Cousins and Pickett would be possible.

Wouldn't call that likely, but it's possible.

Get cousins, keep #6 and draft a QB to ride the pine for a year and then spend rest of money on OL and filling gaps of who leaves. Still not enough prob overcome Rhule’s deficiencies but this team would be competitive

I agree.  If he's Johnny Manziel then pick up the dice and roll again next year.

They would have to give him a 5 year deal.  Godalmighty this is just not good.  Not good at all.  I wish some of the dudes advocating for him would just do a minimum bit of research and see how shitty this dude is

I posted his career stats earlier. “Shitty” is not at all what jumps off the page at you.

He’s got better stats than Stafford over the past 5 or 6 years and absolutely nobody would have a problem with Stafford, even though he never won a damn thing until this year.

    • I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of creating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
