What part of "the process is working, you just can't see it" sounded like an apology to you?

The "I apologize" part. It didn't feel sincere because it wasn't, that's what happens when you force someone to apologize for goodwill's sake.

Until he's ready to admit that he made the wrong hire an apology from Tepper is empty lipservice because clearly he hasn't given up on Rhule being a good coach like the rest of us have. "The process is working, you just can't see it" in so many words.

Which is why that's what we'd like to hear him say...

Kinda hoping it does.

Tepper being less involved with the Panthers could actually be a good thing if he leaves them in competent hands.

But the guy in charge of hiring said “competent hands” is the same guy with a now-established track record of hiring INcompetent hands.

And thus we come full circle.

Tepper doesn't owe me any explanation or apology for what I witness on Sunday. I put myself through the misery of being a fan of his team.

What I would like to hear is that he has hired someone that knows what the hell they are doing as manager of this thing. It doesn't have to come from him, just any old mouthpiece will do.

I would also like for someone to explain this 1000% working thing to me. You see I must be football illiterate when it comes to this new rebuild/culture thing going on in BOA.

Anyway, I've said my piece.

Tried watching the first game. Just couldn’t do it. Never understand why that sport is so popular.
So boring. Give me Hockey any day.

As a sport, it's moved past baseball in popularity and has well passed hockey in this country. Just an FYI.

Yup, watching a baseball game is like watching paint dry to me.  That's one sport I have never understood watching.  Crazy thing is they are in a lockout and they lost a ton of fans years ago when they pulled that stunt.  Now MLS is growing in popularity and the NHL keeps expanded teams and fans, baseball is going to find itself competing with Cornhole tournaments on ESPN Ocho before too long.

Baseball is mostly dudes standing around and you get maybe 20 minutes of football in NFL games between commercials but soccer is the boring sport.

The ridiculous flops kill it for me. Maybe it's different in person but on TV you can tell they're faking 90% of the time. At least hockey has an embellishment penalty to try and keep that out of the game.

    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a right T who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
    • Will be interesting to see how they come out tonight. The Boston game seemed to open the flood gates of media attention. And it’s not just that they’re playing well, in some instances they are getting compared with all time greats. This is still a young team, and it would be easy for an immature team to lose some focus, buy into their own hype, and think they can coast bit. The Heat are a middle of the road team without their leading scorer. There is no big dragon to slay, no big statement to make. I think we’ll learn a lot tonight: are they young but mature, or do they still have a ways to go mentally?
    • Panthers North for the win. Good luck to him. Great guy, hated to see him leave here, but he's about to work with the best QB he's ever worked with (at least on a regular basis).
