Isnt his role to just scout the offense from a defensive perspective?

His role is to scout the offense, and tell them what signs they are showing, tells, or repetitive play calls. McVay, Shanahan, and BB do this same thing for their offenses.

I have no problem with doing this. The choice of hire is the issue. It isn't a former pro linebacker. It's a guy who maxed out in college.

It's another coach at a pro level without pro experience. We should have learned our lesson.

If you look down the list of assistants that we have at this level, I'm sure you'll notice a trend.

If his job is to look at player tendencies, why does it matter how good he was at football? Was BB one of the best players in football history? how about Sean McVay? Sean McDermott?

You dont have to be athletic to see tendencies or decisions on the field decisions. poo we do it here, and get it right at least 50% of the time...

It's not about athleticism. It's about experience at the pro level. It matters and he doesn't have it.

I mean like.....we are bitching about an offensive assistant like this guy is going to be in there making up part of a game plan or something...... y'all need to relax.

It shows that they are still looking in the wrong places for answers and that they are still fundamentally flawed in their management of the team.

Realistically speaking, these guys are just interns that somebody's giving a chance to try and get their foot in the door.

Some of them may succeed. Most won't.

But as to the point that the team and its leadership are fundamentally flawed? Yeah, they are (no doubt).

Yeah, I don't think that this is a crucial position, but just the fact that they keep fishing in that same pond is a problem.

And fishing from that same pond won't help. It's a waste of resources and convolutes things further.

On any staff besides ours this would be an absolute nothing move.  No one would even note it.  Of no importance whatsoever.

With our staff so far beyond the pale however, any move is like salt in the wounds at this point.  Nothing they do will be right.  Only a massive turnaround will rescue them, and with our cap and draft capital the correct resources to create that just aren't there.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
