It's going to be really sad if after all of this, and all we likely give up for Watson, he decides to play out his contract and go elsewhere. Of course we can franchise tag him, but would you really want to have to force your franchise QB to stay where he doesn't want to be? He didn't want to be in Houston playing for a bad team and bad coach. Is Carolina really going to be any better.

It's just crazy to me how we watched prime Cam go through his career with limited weapons and protection on offense.  He never had a good receiver during his prime except for Greg at TE, and he never had a good line.  People in this community have been complaining about that for the last decade.

Now the crowd wants to trade everything away to get a "franchise QB", where we won't have any ammo to build a team around him.  On top of this he has questionable character and has not played for an entire season.  This is just complete madness.

and we are going to be up against the cap so we cannot even try and sign someone to help

If Tepper plans to let Watson have input on our next coach, it might all make sense now.

This is why he did not fire Rhule, he wanted to wait to land Deshaun and then they will search for a coach together.
