Willis was going in passing and Matt was just looking down, wiping his head like he wanted to go to sleep.

Oh I completely understand that’s Rhule for you BC was totally outplaying Erving late in the season and I’m pretty sure during the film session he was doing this same sht. Because the next week we went right back to Erving. It seems like we’re locked on KP. They just showed a clip on espn with Rhule showing a little love chatting it up with Willis.

What Willis has cannot be taught.  A qb1 has it, or he doesn’t

Physical ability? Yeah.

But that's not what wins in the NFL. You have to be able to read defenses and process the information quickly.

It also doesn't matter if you can throw the ball a mile. What matters is whether or not you can throw it to a particular spot.

This is where Ellis and I disagree. He likes the idea of taking physical specimens and trying to teach them the other stuff. I don't. I want the guys who show they can handle the other stuff first. If they're also physical specimens, fine. If not, don't really care.

This is also why I don't put a whole lot of stock into pro days or workouts in general. As has been said by many, anyone can look good in those situations. It's the game tape that really tells the story.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
