All we’ve heard about the QBs up until their pro days is that none of them have first round grades and they should all sit at least a year before they get meaningful snaps. For that reason alone I prefer we either stick with The Darnold or get Baker/Garrapolo on a 1 year contract.

For this season or long term?

I should have clarified--I was referring to who do you hope we pick up.  (Rhule, I think, said that we are adding a third QB to the room--just who do you hope that additional QB is?)

Yet you clicked the link and found a GIF.

I would have picked Sam but not an option. It's the QB this staff deserves.

I am not sold on this class of QBs, especially when you match them to our staff and situation. I also don't want to spend on Vets again after the last 2 years. I think Meh is restrained at this point in the 'process'.

    • Yeah, honestly being a long-term backup is at least as much about being a good lockerroom presence and accepting your role as a supporting piece and not being a greasy wheel as much as it does about ability. Backup QB requires a completely different mindset than the starter and some guys just can't make that switch. It doesn't make them bad guys or locker room cancers or anything like that, it just makes them not what you're looking for in a long-term backup. You bring in that type of guy to compete. You don't bring in that type of guy if you're not looking for competition.
    • Im saying its Tar Heel fans who would do that. I root for all Panthers to succeed regardless but college affiliation means zero to me
    • We have some good pieces.  Enough to be competitive week to week.  Coaching seems to be improving but they’ve made it much harder on themselves than needed.  There are very good reasons to be optimistic about the future. However, I don’t trust them yet.  Wins are odd looking and mostly ugly.  Our opponents have to have a bad day for us to hang with them.  A lot of that is because we still haven’t figured out the most important position and will continue until it’s solved. I think Morgan has done a nice job in both the draft and FA so far.  He’s getting better each day he’s in that position. As far as the players listed, I’m pretty much in agreement.  XL and Bryce are not performing the way they should at this point.  I will say XL could see more success in a vertical passing attack to better utilize his speed. And as always, Fug Tepper.
