I dont know if Luke wants to cut his teeth in coaching. I believe he was already asked that and give a firm "No not for me". (could be wrong, if so please enlighten) Tried his hand at scouting and lasted 1 year? First rounders with millions saved, just dont do coaching. Who knows tho, luke is different. Fishing is tons less stress than getting a 2022 LB group to perform week-2-week.

He likes to fish--saw him fishing for trout at South Mtn.  once.  Spoke to him, but a crowd gathered.  One of them said, "Who is that guy talking to MHS831?"

Well, the first part of that was true.

Luke didn't leave to "fish/hunt and spend time with family"...

...there was something else going on he didn't like, and it has to trace back to Rhule.

There were several unexplained departures in close proximity to Rhule's honeymoon period and Luke has literally had zero involvement since (outside hedges at camp, sitting in cheap seats at a game, etc)...

...there's a rift and this dinner was likely an air-clearing-exercise/olive-branch-extension -- great scoop @ChapelHill80 🙌👊 -- you've lapped all the other "reporters" with this one report alone 👍

Questions are:

1.  Who initiated it?

2.  Why do it at a public restaurant...intentional?

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
