Not at all.

I may question whether he's someone we should draft, but I have zero questions about his character.

I agree..

I also think the kid has better intangibles and more of a leader then alot of QB in the league..

It's just him being so raw talent wise not dominant physically and not playing in a system easily transferable to pro football  game..

Not mad about it if it gets us back into the second to take Willis or Howell. Marshall (WR2) and even Zylstra (WR3) deserve bigger roles in my opinion. Especially Zylstra, all he does is make plays.

Zylstra has been hugely impressive when given a chance. All he does is get open and make plays. I think there’s a WR3 spot for him.

if his 2020 and 2021 seasons were flip flopped he would have been a first rounder IMO.

He'd be a top 10 pick..

And I think his 2021 wasn't bad at all and he should have gotten credit for losing his surrounding cast and still being productive..

The fact he loses both his RBs last year and decides to be the teams running game..

800+ rushing yards and 10 rushing TDs..

Should be commended..

The fact that nobody traded back into the first round to take Willis and get the 5th year option with him is a MAJOR red flag to me.

Especially for someone like him who is known to be a developmental prospect, that 5th year becomes huge if he doesn't play his first year or two.  So when there seemed to be a trade every other pick towards the end of the first round, and none of them were for someone to jump back into the first to grab him, says a lot about what the teams actually think about him compared to the media "experts" out there.

This is a rather interesting point.

Seems Malik (and these other guys) simply aren't providing the value team's want.  This draft definitely showed DE and OT is still coveted, but CB and WR have become just as important and in a poor QB class, their value is just as critical/if not more to obtain.

I have to think team's are looking at recent success models and seeing how secondary and receiving groups are all top notch, it's not just pass rush and QB anymore.  The Rams don't win a lot of games without Kupp, not to mention the NFCCG.  Bengals weren't in the title game without Chase.  Bills/Allen without Diggs? Brady at his age without Godwin and Evans at 100% became very evident.  Can only imagine what Minny could do if they get someone a bit better than Cousins to chuck it to Jefferson.  That could become something pretty juicy.  Also why I do think the Jets absolutely crushed this draft.  WR have some value, hopefully we can get something for Robbie.  Want to see some Panthers action tonight.

Why because ppl told you this??

His college numbers and production don't say the same story.. The fact he play in the equivalent of sandlot football system in Liberty don't say that...

You and other have let workouts, media hype and desperation flaw your view.. To the fact that this kid is a major developmental project that will take Atleast a year or 2 before he is ready to be on the field consistently.. Let alone being a franchise QB..

This whole process did this kid no service..

He will take flack for being overhyped and pushed higher and faster then his talent actually says he should..  Especially if it's TRUE what teams really think about him compared to what the media and fans do...

He does need some work, however Willis had the most total touchdowns in FBS over the last 2 seasons. Showing he definitely knows how to move the ball and get his team in the end zone. I’m not super big on the guy, but I would not be mad if we got him. Let Sam start the season off, hell maybe even play all season, and get Malik ready to go. Probably not gonna happen though. Personally I think we end up with Mayfield. Which I would be kinda excited about.

Howell is at least fun to watch.  I'm a hardcore no on trading our 1st and 2nd next season to gamble on a QB in this weird window for Rhule.  But if they can make it happen without touching those 2 picks or any 1st or 2nd round pick for that matter.....have at it Fitt.

My problem with that thinking is..

1. If we are in position to get a QB in next years better QB class.. Where does that leave Malik??

2. No security in coaching staff isn't good for Malik development..

3. Sam being a bad QB will force Malik on the field way before he needs to be..

We're just not a good situation for him..

Huge run on WR's helped us last night.  Need that run to continue early in the second to make Robby more appealing.

WR is a high priority position, and the contracts over the last 2 years show it.  Teams with QBs that are getting paid are trying to balance both positions, and it seems teams are tired of dealing with high paid divas.

There's a possibility Robby could have more value than we think by the middle of the second round tonight.

Had the same thought process. If we get a decent run starting with Moore, Watson, Pierce.. I could see a wr needy team panic.

I like Wills the kid but some of you ppl have really let the media hype and workouts inflate him as a prospect...

But he can run kind of fast and throw really far as long as it's his first read, well sometimes he will miss his first read too but still!

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
