Opinions: are Panthers on phone now trying to cut a deal?

Sending a future pick isn’t the end of the world - if there’s a player you really like and can grab him, then do it.  There’s no way to predict what next year holds.  Someone else might snag the guy you waited a year for, the class may not be as good in a particular area as once thought, etc.

I trust Fitt and Dan to make smart decisions.  It’s clear Rhule doesn’t have a say in whatever happens anymore.

Yeah, Fit is the new kid at the bargaining table and it shows. The Jets suckered us and we just kept talkin about how well we'd made out.

...i think hes a fast learner...plus...he was prolly dealing with fhule stomping his feet like a brat getting what he wants... we'll see if things have changed, as some say, as the draft goes on. Still like Mayfield...and what the hell...if we have to spend 36mil for 2 qbs... its below what most teams are paying... just a bonus if Mayfield really has something to prove but he could be another Darnold or another Delhomme, but we can't overpay.

I'll say it again if Fitt trades our first round 2023 pick I am done until he's fired. I'm leaving if he does something that stupid. I won't tolerate it.

Oh come on...stick around long enough to see how it plays out at least.  This is just interesting.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
