Maybe we're having trouble with a trade partner? I think Tepper has been closely monitoring how much fans hate the Baker leak on Twitter lol. Get an actual fresh rookie QB and you'll actually sell some jerseys for once in 4 years

Yeah right, he can watch his stadium be about 3/4 full because Panther fans are out of patience. We have the wine and cheese crowd and most only cheer when we are winning. We are 2-3 years away and no QB left can change that only a vet with experience can have us competing this year.

Luckily I was working til now so haven't witnessed the real life pain of watching all these teams pick potential starters all night long. Really deep day 2

It is indeed miserable.  Especially the TEs and LBs, which we could have really used the help at.  Cook from UGA going off the board hurt me personally.😂

People don't get this.

40 SBs have been won by a QB who was drafted by that championship team. Four of those QBs led their teams to a dynasty. Brady with 6 trophies (pick 199), Montana (pick 82) with 4 trophies, Bradshaw (pick 1) with 4 trophies, and Aikman (pick 1) with 3 trophies.

In the last 9 seasons, only 1 first round QB has won the SB for the team that drafted them. 3 QBs outside the first round have led their team that drafted them to 5 of those 9 SB championships.

5 of the 9 SB losers drafted their QBs in the 1st round. Goff, Newton, Ryan, Burrow, and Mahomes.

Brady, Wilson, and Mahomes have been the only 3 QBs drafted by their team to show up in multiple SBs over the past decade.

What can we learn from this? Drafting a QB to be your franchise QB gives you the best shot to win a SB, and not drafting that QB in the 1st round increases your chances at going to multiple SBs and cementing your franchise as an NFL dynasty. Facts.

don't forget about 3rd rounder Russell Wilson who threw a last second pick on the goal line to keep his team from winning another championship.

    • That is probably a good point that I did not consider. It doesn’t force their hand financially, to declare early.
    • Realistically he's probably not still going to be under contract when hes good to go again? Unfortunately for him you cant sign him for more than a small one year deal until he can prove hes still a good player... that might not happen.  I think hes played his last down as a panther.
    • It has been going down that backyard ball road with the QBs a long time. It also has made it more difficult to evaluate OL for the pro game.    I agree though that the NIL is making it even worse. Then they get in the league and suck, coaches get fired. Here comes a new system every year for some of them, same as you are talking about in college.    Unfortunately, IMO, the league has responded by taking the path of least resistance offensively.    The only saving grace for the QB problem we identified here is the slotted salaries out of the draft. No more 100 million rookie deals. Which today would be 250 million and even more.  So to me, paying a player that doesn’t bring success in the first two or three years, you can’t do it. Better to take another shot in the draft or reclaim someone else's failure. Given that all staffs are not equal. Look what Shanahan did with Purdy for instance. And their getting off of Lance quickly.    In theory if Canales is a QB whisperer type, which we don’t know he isn’t at least to a higher degree than many (not including the established masters) we should be quicker on the trigger with these QBs. If Bryce doesn’t show out next year we really need to hit the reset.
