Hes never had good coaching, OL, or weapons til now

Coaching? On paper he has better coaching now, but the same could be said last season.

OL? Better on paper, but we'll have to see how things turn out.

Weapons? He had most of the same cast around him last season and it didn't help much.

If Sam

If Sam Darnold remains healthy he will have his best NFL season.

Considering how terrible he's been so far in his career, just being bad will be an improvement and give him his best season. So, the bar isn't exactly high here.

I'm someone that didn't mind the trade and thought Sam should be given a chance last year. After watching him last season, I think he's too far gone to turn things around become a good QB. Like David Carr before him, it's too late.

Youre making my case for me. You grossed over the improved OL, which should give him more .7 seconds to find the weapons. The weapons are pointless without a decent OL unless you are Brady or Borrow. Please dont compared a inexperienced pass game LSU lackey that didnt even call plays to Ben Mccadoo whos done very well in GB with Arod and followed that with a good NYG OC job. Brady telling the real OC- "Hey let Borrow throw it Jefferson", fuging brilliant.... Yes sam has been terrible, 3rd time thats why he will have his best season *if he remains healthy.... David Carr'd is the biggest issue, I believe he gets well enough to have his best.......but this is the biggest obstacle.

Its very simple- take a look at Sams career stats. Focus on them and the "games played" one. Hes never had good coaching, OL, or weapons til now. Never had much of season either, hence why it shouldnt take much to have his best. Never played a full season, leftd me PLENTY of room. Mccadoo is known for his QB whisper powers, if sam starts to trust the OL and CMC is fully healthy like the 3-0 start. He should easily have his best season. My main issue is hes been running for life for 4 straight years, but Mccadoo is on the job.

Yeah I got it. He could still suck, but have his best season yet.

Never said I was arguing against you. 😉

I didn't gloss over the OL. I'm just not ready to crown a rookie LT, if he wins the job, and a couple more free agents until I see how they gel and play together.

I think Sam has been Carr'd, but he could still have his best season ever even if it's not good by most measurements.

See thats not hard, people acting like I said "Sam Darnold will walk on the Sun"....... Not a insane bold statement, if you understand Sams career and aware of his stats. Leftd myself PLENTY of room given Sammy bois never finished a full season.

A little more info on one of our undrafted guys...

Hartlaub basically came to one practice and left.

Wonder what the deal was there 🤔

He sucked at whatever he tried out for is the most obvious conclusion.

I don't honestly know that much about him other than that a few people in the undrafted players thread were happy we got him.

Leaving that soon makes me think it could be something personal.

The kid was fast if his Pro Day 40 time was accurate (4.22). He definitely hit the bricks faster than anyone else this camp....

Some are not ready for professional football. Homesick or just no heart for it, Im just guessing tho. Could have gotten a good job offer as well, he was the longest of long shots as well.

I think I can agree with you that there is a strong possibility that he will have his best year ever.  Even with that I don’t think that means he is a legitimate starter in this league.  It might not 100% his fault as I think he is conditioned to go 1, 2 I’m about to get killed if I don’t make a play.

He had these tendencies when drafted and his experience with the Jets and Panthers only reinforced that.   I think having more confidence in the line may marginally improve this but not enough for redemption.

I hope I’m off base and would love it if you can post an “I told you so” rebuttal after next season.
