These guys don't just lose because they're supposed to. They're going to try and improve their situation. Baker is on the outs in Cleveland. Sam is on the outs with at least the fan base here. Trade straight across and be done. I want Darnold no where near Corral, but I don't expect Corral to be the next Russel Wilson or Dak Prescott. He could be, I just don't expect that out of the gate.

You didn't answer the question

You do the same thing you would do if Sam won 6-8. You proceed through the offseason and try to get better and move on from Rhule and Darnold/Baker. 6-8 wins won't save his job or land a big flashy contract. You can't bank on getting a top pick for a QB in next year's draft.

I don't want Baker or Sam anywhere near Corral. Sam is just a terrible football player, Baker is a cancer.

So a wasted season

It very well could be. But if Rhule walks into that locker room and says we're losing this season so get over it, he's going to lose the locker room day 1. These guys don't play to lose. They're all going to try and improve their situation. I don't necessarily want Baker, Jimmy G or Sam, but we're going to have one of them. Baker is probably the best chance to win out of the 3. So the move makes sense from a trying to win perspective, even if we as fans don't really like it.

To be fair, that was probably going to happen anyway.

He didn't get invited to go to the Bahamas with Watson and the rest of the offense either.

People act like we are missing out on something, I bet no one on that offense misses him.

Dude had an elite OL and running game and was mediocre.

Imagine if he had to play in Carolina with no CMC and the OL we have had the past few years. He would be getting boo'd as hard as Sam and Rhule.

Who would be a better QB?  Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield?

They both suck. You dont trade away your draft for several years to get rid of a guy that is any good.

I hope we have learned from our retread mistakes and just move on with what we have.

Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady also sitting out...

...they call it "voluntary" for a reason 🤙.

Rogers is working with a lot of new receivers. Maybe he should be there.

Robbie could be working with a new QB. Maybe he should be there.

Fug Brady.

Fans want their players there. The player has a choice to say no.

Two sides to every store.

There is literally z-e-r-o reason for Baker to show up for these voluntary workouts -- he'd be a fool to do so 🤦‍♂️🤣.

    • You argued today the Saints backfield is better than the Panthers.  I think I’m good and don’t need any more new debates for today
    • I'd disagree about the LAR game being stellar. He made a couple of key 4th down throws for touchdown, good throws and I give him credit for those, and a throw to Coker to seal the game but I wouldn't consider that a stellar game. The screen pass to Chubba was a standard screen pass. We had to have 2 4th down risky calls because the rest of the offense wasn't working. We were not moving the ball at will. Without a pick in the end zone and one returned for a TD, that 10 -14 point swing, we don't win that game. Bryce did not own that game. He had 3 great throws in that game, but that was really it. He did not dominate that game, at least from my point of view. 9 times out of 10, we don't win that game. Without those 3 takeaways, we don't win that game.  The Dallas game, he had 200 yards passing and 3/1, but again, I wouldn't consider that stellar. What Rico did was stellar. I would consider what Bryce did a good game for a starting NFL QB. That's what those stat lines reflect and what he did in game. Did he make some big throws. Yes. But again. He didn't own that game. Rico owned that game. Maybe that's a stellar game for Bryce. I consider it a good game for a franchise QB. I expect 8 of those performances a year.  Atlanta 2.0 was a stellar game. He did get a lot of help from his receivers with YAC but he was throwing it everywhere and he owned the field. That game he looked like a franchise QB.  It's all in how you look at it I guess. The bar has been so low that a good game for a starting NFL QB can be considered stellar for Bryce. I want and expect more from a starting NFL QB, especially one that's going to be coming off his rookie contract and won't be able to have all the resources spent to surround him just to have this level of performance. If Bryce was a 5th round QB and not a 1st we wouldn't be having this discussion and therein lies the real issue I think. We're so heavily invested it's distorted our perception. If Bryce was playing for any other team we line up against on Sunday we'd be salivating.
