We are just flat out embarrassing at this point... Why not just wait until he is cut? Why is no other team in the NFL interested? Seattle doesn't have a QB and said hell no..... And notice its all Rhule, I at least know that Dan Morgan is not down w this...And Tepper doesn't mind b/c it'll sell some seats and he is a very cheap Billionaire.

When we acquire Baker Mayfield Sam will simple be released

So you down to release Sams guaranteed contract? Basically means you are trading a draft pick to pay Mayfield 36 million. What a genius Rhule is. But he doesn't care about the future of the franchise he cares about his job for one year. Like I have always said. He is a used car salesman and is trying to sell the FO on his 5th QB that sucks.

There is no real reason for Cleveland to cut him. They owe him all the money so they would be better off telling him to sit at the house the whole season than cutting him and letting another team jump on a deal with him.

Yeah- Later in the season when QBs go down someone will offer them something for him and take the contract too.

Well they don't have long into the season due to the trade deadline.

I think its like week 7 or 8 usually. Someone generally goes down before then. They have options and even if they do release him- he could go a different route (teams that aren't interested may take a second look cuz in effect he's being paid by Cleveland and so would most likely sign cheaply). he may be willing to backup Brady (or anyone really) for a couple more M. plus my browns check.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
