Not gonna lie, did not want Baker. But at that price, who could even be mad? He's immediately our best QB and has shown WAY more than Darnold ever has............all for a 2024 5th rounder and 5 mil. I'll take it.

I wouldn't say waste just yet. 5 million + 5th rounder is not a big investment in a QB, especially on the last year of his deal. We'll see what this upcoming season brings and re-visit next offseason.

And I don't think he has the headcases here that he had to deal with in Cleveland. With protection, there's no reason to think he can't succeed here.

I was content to roll with what we have, but this could actually make us a contender for the next 2-3 years.

In Baker’s defense, last year he was hurt and his HC kept playing him even though it was obvious.  Shades of Rivera trotting out Cam with one shoulder.  
 

He played all 16 games in 2020 and was 26/8 TD/INT (not including the playoffs and a W).  He’s not prime Peyton Manning but he’s not poo either
