It's quite a collection.

Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints, 1st overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft...

Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons, 2nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft...

Baker Mayfield, Carolina Panthers, 1st overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft

Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers, 3rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft

Blaine Gabbert, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 10th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft

Andy Dalton, New Orleans Saints, 35th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft

Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons, 74th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

Matt Corral, Carolina Panthers, 94th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

...

Oh, and that Brady guy 😐

Just goes to show how unlikely it is that those top 5, top 10 qb's actually live up to their billing.  Which is why I don't really give a crap about a top five pick for next year.

Maybe. Winston has put up big numbers in the past but they're accompanied with big turnover numbers. If he can cut down on the turnovers he's probably #2.

Baker is the best QB we've had since prime Cam.

Which is saying absolutely nothing.

It always depends on which version of Winston shows up.

Side Note: Regarding Newton...

Tom brady will either get injured or finaaaaaallllllly get caught by farther-tme or PED police.

So then Baker will be viewed as the best around mid-season- BOOK IT!!!!!

I got them at 8 wins, but its not firm by any means. Even if Tom got injuried, bucs are better than panthers. Failcons alone at the bottom, both Iants&panthers sitting around 8 wins. Yucs on top. I dont even know if Baker will be starting, hes the lead dog tho....

You never answered my question about would you rather pay Geoff 40 million this season or Baker 4,850,000?

What say ye o' huddle of truth?

I highly doubt he is better than Jamies or even Mariota based on his grades and previous play, but I sure hope he is not..... then we won't have a chance to draft a QB next year, will hurt Corral's development and we will either let Baker walk or massively overpay. Who you want next Zod Daniel Jones?

    • I think we have some revisionist around it here because of all the drama around Tepper's involvement. If you pull up any scouting report from the time you'll see the same take. WalterFootball's report sums up the media's thoughts on him well: "Young has everything the NFL is looking for in a quarterback except in terms of weight and height." He was the consensus top QB of his draft and the only real question mark they had about him was whether his body could hold up in the NFL. The infamous Steph Curry comparison the Panthers latched onto came from Albert Breer. The excuses I've heard for him are more anecdotal. Bryce Young's development is the only bullet point most NFL fans have on the Panthers right now. That and the coaching turnover. If you're not actually watching our games it's easy to believe this is just a dysfunctional organization that doesn't know how to unleash this talented Heisman winner.  I've seen media and fans alike run with that narrative way more than criticizing Young outright. Whenever we win there's flocks who use it as proof that the Panthers just need to be patient.
    • So maybe 1-3 vs playoff teams, going by standings as of today. I guess that is an improvement.  We are just about improved enough to be in purgatory draft wise. It really isn’t so bad in the 1st unless you really want that top QB or maybe edge guy because there are usually plenty of good players at the top but it hurts you some as get deeper in the draft.
