Warren Sharp’s argument is disingenuous. Darnold was the bad deal yes but trading picks for a developmental player and a 2024 pick for a possible decent qb is a bad thing?

Skip Bayless is a clown and Baker fan boy and his take basically is a win win for him. Baker fails he was right about the panthers, Baler succeeds and he’s great for leading the awful Panthers. He can’t lose.

so warren sharp is wrong?

He arguing the qb room is awful is he not? Baker with Sam backing up and Matt in development is not awful.

Bro, thats a shitty room no matter how you slice it.  2 of the worst qbs of the past 4 years and a rookie coming in from an RPO system.

Sharp is simply pointing out we have given up a ton of assets for some average (at the very best) qbs and qb prospects

I’m not gonna lie, Skip is right. The panthers are the biggest mess in the NFL. Egomaniac owner with zero football team building ability or knowledge, amateur head coach, bullshit QB situation, injury prone star players, and the cherry on top - the ugliest head coaching staff ever assembled.

Adding Faker to the mix just added a wildcard of drama and crybaby to an already potentially volatile situation.

I get it you hate Baker but I think it’s an improvement.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a QB room worst than ours. The ones you do find, we might be slightly better, but the fact that you’re even comparing them shows how bad it is.

A whole lot of other big name QBs were considered "average" at some point in their careers.

Farve sat on the Falcons bench, Brady was drafted #199... there are other examples where QBs overcame an "average" tag and did fairly well.

Will it happen with us?  Probably not.

But it could.

Im not saying its great but when you don't have an elite qb all qb rooms are kinda just meh You better hope that QB 1 is better than half the league and I feel like a middle of the road qb is better than what we've had over the last 4 years.

Lock and Geno?

Rudolph, Trubisky, and Pickett?

Mariota and Ridder?

Goff and Boyle?

Mills, Kyle Allen, and Driskol?

Jones, Taylor, and Davis Webb?

Winston and Andy Dalton?

Fields, Peterman, and Siemien?

There's is a whole lot of sub par rooms which is why having an actual QB 1 goes a longgggg way. You add Allen, Mahomes, Stafford etc to any of those room and they are instant better but again I'm just arguing that finding that QB 1 is priority 1.

    • I honestly think this coming season is his make or break year. I have noticed some press conferences where Dan and Dave have made some interesting comments when asked about bryces future and upcoming contract and they've basically said they're not thinking about that or factoring it in at all.  Hopefully he continues to improve, that is our best bet.   The conspiracy theorist in me thinks they have already start preparing if he doesn't make another jump this year. The thing that have made me wonder, while doing some detective work.  The Redshirt freshman from South Carolina, Lanorris Sellers.  He has crazy potential and improved greatly throughout the season last year.  I saw we had 11 south carolina players in for our top 30s including 5 or 6 that were expected to go undrafted.  It's a bit of a conspiracy theory but could they already be doing a lot of research on Sellers by talking to his teammates.  Again, I'm not a Bryce hater and I think the best option is he continues to make a jump this season.  It's just something that has stood out to me.
    • AT cant' get open either.  He is just a savvy old guy eating on up all the slot reps.  The fact he seperate and run lower the entire ceiling of a Bryce Young O.  As does the fact we get below league average production out of the backfield in the pass game when we go to it.  since the moment we drafted Bryce, I have banged the drum slot WR, rec RB, and TE would be the most important things we could do to build around Bryce.  We have done basically the polar opposite.  It's why I call the Tepper era random parts.
    • yeah...very favorable remarks from what i've heard.  seems everyone was also very surprised with the TMac pick.  that video was funny "he lied to my face"
