That's not really the point.  The point is they prioritized giving their rookie reps in preseason instead of wasting time on known quantities in backup roles.

Coral probably won't be a starter this season but I do agree PJ walker is a scub who shouldn't be on the team and these reps should be Corals.

As they should, they know what they have in Tannehill. According to Rhule… we have a QB battle… for better or worse (and it’s worse)… the Panthers aren’t giving Corral a chance.

First team D dominated. First team O didn't look spectacular but moved the ball methodically. OL struggled though. Secondary looks good. DL depth looks non-existent.

Washington's announcer? *ball gargling sounds*

Nice to hear, nothing too surprising there. Has Ickey played at all?

Well and they know what they have in Logan Woodside.  He's been on their team for a few years and they know what he is.  PJ is no different.  He's a known quantity.

1. Typical 2 minute Matt Rhule garbage. There was no excuse to not get points there, or have an attempt at least. Terrible decision by PJ, terrible clock management by the Head Coach.

2. On the plus side, this looks like a real NFL offense with both Baker and Darnold. Once again Darnold looks like a 1st round talent when he's asked to take 5 snaps but if this were a full game he would turn into Teddy Checkdown and we'd all be lamenting the fact that he's playing.

3. Love Baker's aggressive nature, as evidenced by his trust throw to Anderson. Anderson isn't the guy to go get those but if the Panthers were to find an AJ Brown type, he would be perfect for that role.

4. Rashard Higgins needs to start, period. Put him in over Robbie in two receiver sets, run him in the slot or outside on three, get Robbie lined up on a nickel or linebacker

5. That's it.

Can someone hit me with a few bullet points of the game so far? I cannot watch it.

Some of our defensive rookies did more than just flash.  Barno made plays, and the LB out of Penn State we took in the 4th is a big hitter, broke up what looked like a sure completion.

The main thing I felt best about was when Baker started the game, and led us to a FG.  Darnold came in and pretty much Darnolded but got us a TD.

I'm no X and O guy, but I can tell you how I felt watching.  Baker looked like an NFL starter.  He just looked right...comfortable, confidant.  I lost that feeling as soon as Sam took over.

I hate it for Sam, but Baker made me feel so much better leading the team.  Haven't felt that comfortable in our O since the season Cam was still healthy.

    • That Matt Moore TD pass haunts me.
    • My question is...is he an upgrade or downgrade from Jewell?  Idunno, but that one play vs Pats where he shot up the gap was impressive.
    • Two separate issues Yes, T-Mac 100% needs to be fed more, 8 targets out of 30 attempts when he's the only legitimate receiving threat right now is just dumb, but that has zero bearing on Rico's game. Again, 6 good plays by Rico does not make for a well called game by Canales, I don't understand why that's so controversial of a thing to say. Rico had a great game and final stats because he made a handful of great plays, not because Canales kept the Dolphins on their heels and because of it we ripped off constant 8-15 yard runs.  Had that been how he put up the 200+ yards, I'd be the first person to jump on here and congratulate Canales for calling a great game, but that's just not how it played out. It's giving credit to Rico for the game he had, but still living in reality in the totality of the play calling of Canales from opening kick off to the final whistle.  Outside of those few runs, you can't tell me you weren't screaming at the TV for the majority of the game with Canales boring and predictable play calling (and play design). That's all I was trying to say with this thread, that we can't give Canales a pass because Rico broke off a couple big plays, he still called a complete poo game as the offensive play caller. As that's exactly what happened a couple weeks ago.  We win 30-0 in a rivalry game and half the fan base starts talking about how we're finally turning a corner and just stuck their head in the grounds to not see the glaring issues that we still saw in that game.  Then we get utterly blown out by a team that wasn't a complete disaster in their own right and fans fall back in disarray.
