One of the deals I cannot grasp was, by all accounts Watson was respected and well-liked by everyone. I travel some during his Clemson time and hear nothing but good stuff about him and his character. Then nuke drops and one of the first reports was all houston masseuse black-listed him.

Ummm, ok. If that’s how you feel. Not trying to change your mind or anyone else’s.

I appreciate the lesson. It wasn’t really needed, but thanks.

I hope he gets the help he needs, and changes for the better.

FYI-today he said he has done nothing wrong.  Prognosis very poor.

Also...want to say, if you are a fan of his I know  this whole thing is very  disappointing.  I bought in when he cried those big tears, saying how much the team meant to him.  Then...demanded a trade...nd now.... He has let a lot of people down who were pulling for him.

Yea, I’m disappointed in him. I know he does a lot around here in the Atlanta area, and has a lot of people that look up to him. While I’m disappointed, I’m going to give him the opportunity to do and get right. I wanted him here in Carolina, and I won’t run or hide from that.

With that being said, I understand why some have written him off. I respect your opinion and how you feel towards him, and I won’t and I’m not trying to change your mind

I just don’t understand how he turned out like this. I guess you truly never know some people. Crazy behavior. He needs to go to sex therapy.

Miles Bridges has crushed me as a huge fan of his since Flint ... Now I can't respect the team for him still being here...

I should have put money on this, I was 100% sure Watson wouldn't get a full year.  NFL judge goes light, the NFL steps in and flexes it's muscle (wink/nod) and the whole charade is over.  The NFL can say they did the best they could invoking their most serious punishment and Watson still gets to play this year.  Win/Win, just how it was scripted.

    • Canales was asked about Freeling at OTAs getting beat by Princely and Scourton.  He basically described the learning curve, and it sounds as if Freeling has a lot to learn before taking the job.  Walker gives us time.  Having said that, Motown talks like he has a few (2-3?) years left---and I would love to see it.   If you look at the contracts, It is a good bet that Hunt and Lewis are extended and given some guaranteed $$$ to lower the cap hit.  Lewis is about 29 and Hunt is 30, I believe.  That gives us about a 3-year window to start grooming their replacements.  Ickey seems to be the person who could be left without furniture in the musical chairs game.  I would move him to guard and use him like a Travelle Wharton--we have a good problem--we could have six or seven starting OL on the roster.  Of course, that won't last long.
    • I see this point and agree--However, someone is going to bite.  In fact, I think there will be some bluffing going on to make the desperate teams raise the stakes.  We shall see.
    • I could see a team like the Jets, Cardinals etc. bid a second round pick, get a year to see where he’s at, and still take a first round QB if he doesn’t show the right stuff. A risk well worth taking. I just wonder how much of a mental toll the last few months have taken on him?
