You could likely go back and say we should have drafted x over y on almost all the players on our team. Also reports are TMJ is safe anyways so you gotta find a new narrative

The difference is I said so at the time, feel free to look up my post history, and was widely criticized for it. I realize this is often true, yet so many here were sure TMJ represented such a can't miss prospect that it was worth overlooking our beyond obvious need at Oline.

This isn't a "narrative". This is me making a point about a prior discussion.

Sure, but Laviska isn't a 6th WR, he's our #3 right now (well maybe in a few weeks once he gets fully up to speed with the playbook and Baker).

My issue isn't with adding Laviska, as I like him as a player, my issue is that we're adding a player that I feel like we already have on the squad.  Not so sure Laviska has any more upside than Shi does, so why give up draft capital to add someone we already have and has looked great in camp this year?

Shi is 5'10 190. Don't think this dude will play the same role as him

From Gantt-

The Panthers will send undisclosed draft compensation to Jacksonville in exchange.

Shenault caught 63 passes for 619 yards last year. The 6-foot-1, 227-pounder was the Jaguars' second-round pick in 2020 from Colorado.

Shenault adds another option to a deep receiving room, where the Panthers were looking for a bigger option. His size and blocking ability adds a physical element they didn't have previously.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
